Greetings all! My wife is out of town until next Tuesday, so I can get away with setting these up in the den temporarily to keep me company.

So my post title won't be seen as clickbait, I will mention that I vacuumed the main floor with the model G on Tuesday, and today I will vacuum the upstairs with the model AE, which has a dealer-installed power nozzle port. I use my model G's PN-1 with it.

I was about to post this with a previously-taken image, but then Lucy showed up for a drink and that raised the fun level a notch. She doesn't seem bothered by the vacs being so close to the water fountain; I don't know how the other three will react.

Cats and Vacuums...

Nice lineup indeed. Your Lux canisters are generally older than mine as my oldest are a pair of 1205s.

Funny thing about cats and vacuums. Mine are generally unperturbed by them, although they are typically wary of an unfamiliar one when it first comes into the house but after they've given it a good 'sniff-down', it quickly becomes just another part of the landscape--as long as it's not running. I had a cat a few years ago who was scared do death of the vacuum and would run and hide as soon as she heard it turn on and wouldn't come out until it had been shut off for an hour or two. The ones I have now are less fearful and will generally observe the proceedings from a discreet distance on the (somewhat rare) occasions that I run a vacuum. The calico, being more curious by nature, often likes to inspect what I'm doing up close when I'm working on one. As the photo below would suggest, she's actually sort of 'into' vacuums. The bag to my recently acquired Heritage 84 was of particular interest as it held just the faintest whiff of dog, even after laundering.

Kirbyklekter, the G was my all-time favorite model for many years, but these days I really like the looks of the AE and the 1205. I can't pick a favorite. Without an integrated cordwinder, the AE looks more industrial to me, and the blue hammertone is handsome. Lux's designers really cleaned up the outward appearance of the main unit with the introduction of the G - it looks like something I would expect to see on The Jetsons. If I ever get around to polishing the aluminum parts, it may re-take the #1 spot. Sound-wise, I always liked the G but these days I like the L the best. The engineers did a great job muffling the motor noise in the L, and it's a real pleasure to use.

The most fun part of having these is the thought that our 1947 house could have been cleaned years ago with one or more of these models, or perhaps a XXX or LX.

Human, thanks for sharing about your cats! Your calico is a beauty. When I vacuum with our Miele Callisto, which is VERY quiet, all of our cats stay in the room until I'm a foot or two away from them. Our Turkish Angora male will stay put even when the power nozzle is inches away from him. He's the all-white one in the image I took awhile ago to share with my wife. He really misses his "Mommy."
