I'm so excited with anticipation I could spit! Found this online while doing some collaborative research with a good friend (and fellow Kirby enthusiast) of mine...

Looks like the official name is the Kirby "Avalir" rather than Avalier as stated in earlier posts..

Looking at the paper trail on the US Patent site, it's interesting to see how far back this thing has been in the works. The patent for the name "Avalir" was only recently approved in the latter part of 2009.

I'm so ready!

Of course, if this is repeat information I apologize in advance, I just haven't seen anything myself lately so I thought I'd throw a line out and see what it reels in..

any experts out there have any additional info they can share?

From what I understand, Kirby usually rolls out an updated vacuum about every three years. I think they're about a year past due since the Sentria first came out. Should be very interesting to see what they come up with next!

i've tried!

I have looked and looked! Naturally Kirby isn't releasing anything. My friend is going to go snooping around his kirby distributor in Dallas to see if he can dig up anything! Not keeping my hopes up, but its worth a shot since i read in a previous post where Dallas was included in a list of "test cities" and some units were supposed to be rolled out beginning in April. He's as excited as the rest of us.

i went to our local kirby for belts (usualy buy onlin) and i asked the lady when and where, any info etc about the new kirby. she seemed suprised by the questions but said she had no info on it.

i am quite sure by her reaction she knew something. will need bags in a month or so, and will go back and ask more questions.

From my dealings with Kirby and other DTD vacuum suppliers-the new models are not "announced"except to a test market first-then to the gen market.Dallas is a popular test market for both Kirby and Rainbow.Since the info on the new Kirby "Avalir" is out-they may change the model and name.so the best thing to do is stay tuned.Again the dealer dist in my area has my # and he will call me and show me whatever new model past the Sentria comes out.
