I'm in a Quality Inn in Kittanning Pennsylvania, about 30 minutes east of Butler PA, off Route 422.

I've come here to pick up a few eBay winnings too heavy to ship expensively to Canada. My buddy Carl lives 15 minutes away on his farm but since he currently has his convalescing alzheimer Mom and Dad who had his kees replaced a week ago, he is bringing the vacs to me here in the morning. We'll have a hearty truckers steak & egg breakfast and a fast visit since he goes in to work for the 2:30 shift. I shall wend my way home by way of Niagara Falls.

But, I already hit a few Junk Stores & Sunday Flea Markets...

Electrolux smooth body 1205 with 600 watt engine, powerhose blades (no pigtail) as well as a plug-in below the hose bezel. Hose leaks minimally - a perfect candidate for the Latex lining procedure. I am not convinced this is the PN that belongs with it but dang if it doesn't all fire up and run nice and quiet!!! Bag light works, too. I will vacuum the room's carpet before bed. LOL

Æ-Dave, that is a 1205 power nozzle. There were several varieties: The first was the original PN1 style with long white plastic wand and dark blue turquoise base, then one with the same base but with Canadian-style telescoping wand that was very trouble-prone and usually broke, then the style you see here and finally, the last one had no pigtail on the handle end but was "auto-connect."

Interesting tidbit about the 1205, the second version had an electric hose but also had a PN pigtail port on the bag cover, so you could use either style of hose.

Time for Davy to re-visit 137.com...

Thanks, Charles. I'm surprised it runs so well, there's even enough bristle length to leave a clear wide track in the room's carpet. I'm looking forward to being here in the morning while I pack the car, while the Room Service gals do their rounds.

Fabulous!

That Slimline looks like it has low miles on it!
The TurboPower nozzle is what comes on the New Constellation!

Love the Lux, too!

Congrags!

Pete, I got your email about the Camry. I get all emails on the road but sending email out takes so much hoop jumping it's not worth the head slapping hand biting frustration.

Sure I can when I get back today hopefully by dinnertime. I assume you called so you know where it is? Do you have an address I could stealthily check it out? It's the bottom end model but they are damn fine cars. Surely they mean 60,000 km.

Dave

When Carl arrived I was vacuuming out the car with the 1205, much to the curiosity of day staff cleaning rooms.

It's not much but would have cost hundreds to ship all this weight up to Canada.

1949 Modern Hygiene

When a true Dream Vacuum this complete comes up you double-check the Vacuum Indulgence Fund. Then you can go for it or regret it the rest of your life!

Man o man, no regrets on this Modern Hygiene, other than a manual would be nice - some day. Not one dent, gouge or scrape. The hose still passes the thump test. Just needs the Spa Makeover and a new cord. I'm all a-tingle with delight.

Also delighted with this Singer S-2. Sadly, it was badly 'packed' loose (against all instructions I provided) in a tall box and the handle got cracked & broken off. I've packing-taped it together til I get home. Will be pursuing just compensation from the seller/packer. Thankfully none of the handle's internal parts were lost or broken. It will always have a scar across the housing after repair. :-( Otherwise it is in excellent condition other than a hardened cord that will be replaced. It still retracts into the winder.

Dammit.

Ah well, it was bound to happen some day.

Time to pack up the car and make my merry way home scanning for Thrift Stores along the way.

There's lots of room in the trunk this time. LOL

Dave, happy happy joy joy.

DAMNIT, people are so STUPID Dave. :(

I LOVE your Singer and WANT one BADLY, but it's too BAD about the Handle and I know EXACTLY how you feel about it. :( You see, recently, I Bought a Hoover Convertible Model 707 of ebay and the Seller was such a MORON, such a STUPID POS, that he Packed it in ONE PIECE, with the Handle, Bag and EVERYTHING above the Base sticking straight out of the Box, so needless to say, when it was Delivered to me, the Power Switch was BROKEN OFF, the Cord, I don't know how, was TORN IN HALF and ABOVE ALL, the Handle Bail was BROKEN CLEAN OFF the Vacuum and just HANGING there by the Cord, so needless to say, I am PISSED about it and had to pull a HORRIBLE looking Convertible 1030 apart, to get the Parts off it I needed to Fix my 707, but honestly, it looks AWFUL. :(

Oh and I forgot to mention, that the Vacuum was Packed so BADLY, that something got knocked loose in the Motor even, which I can't Fix, so that Motor had to be pulled and the 1030's Motor put in the 707, PLUS, the DUMB LOSER thought it would be GREAT to Install a new Kirby Bulb, so when I first turned the Vacuum on, to try it out at least, the Bulb BLEW and the WHOLE Headlight Assembly, CAUGHT ON FIRE, YES, ON FIRE, so as of now, unless someone helps me out, my 707 will NEVER be able to use a Headlight Bulb again. :(

Hey Dave - do you want any bags for the Sunbeam? I ran across some at a store in Medicine Hat on my way to Calgary - If you want them I could pick them up on the way back next monday if they are still there.

Doug

Sunbeam Challenger bags!!!

Yes please, Doug. That would be great.
The thing is positively gooey with grease grim all over the outside but will clean up well. As well, it has been (last) run with NO BAG and I can see the fans are clogged with fluff & pine needles. I need to remove 1" of the hose at the handle end where it is split. Easy unscrew & re-screw.

She's so ugly in that large print garish green dress I just had to give her a good home.
