It bugs me when sellers state in their listings (for example): "Vintage Vacuum with EXTRAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I see this ALLLLL the time -- usually in all caps, with a couple dozen exclamation points.

What the heck do they mean by "extras?" 9 times out of 10 there's nothing "extra" there, just the standard components that came with the machine. Well, that is, except when there's a rainbow-assortment of crappy plastic attachments that got added over the years... I'd hardly be trumpeting that junk as "extras!"

Well, if it includes rare genuine bags and filters, where applicable, it could be worth the extra consideration. I know plenty of vintage vac owners who pride in obtaining genuine parts/OEM rather than poorer material based universal things. And rare, genuine user manuals too!

I've won machines with some of those "extras"

Sometimes, they were attachments for an Electrolux, GE, etc.....thrown in. Or, GENERIC bags. I put all of these little trinkets in a nice (decorative) trash can. At my minimeets, I bring out the'can' and tell my guests/friends, "Here, it's trash (to me). Help yourselves".
People have gotten great 'finds' in that little trashcan, which is filling up again.
"Dig in"!!

NO extras!

It is not the extras thing that plagues us here but an old cheap trick from the 90s:
You are looking for let's say Miele and up comes (among regular results): Siemens, NO Miele!!!!! *yuk*
It was calm for a while on ebay but now they've started that airheaded crap again.

An then, there is that one particular vacuum shop that automatically adds items by the minute:
You see 5 to 8 pages (!) of one and the same boring generic accessory item.
Same pic, same headline, same everything, just the "date added" goes something like: 2015/8/3 at 9.33, at 9.32, at 9.34, at 9.35 etc. etc.
I regret that ebay has no ban option for specific sellers.

Ebay listings 'NOT xxxxx', etc.

As Whirlpolf says, these are amongst the MOST annoying 'Ebay-isms'!! Do these people REALLY think that anyone who has had their time wasted by these pathetic, misleading, time waster listings is actually going to BUY from them as and when they may want something which the dealer IS offering??? I assume they rate their site's value by the 'hits' it generates, rather than by the sales it generates... Sad, isn't it????
Rant over.... ;-)

All best

no they won't

Tried that a couple of times with different wordings.
Nothing happens.
Ebay just would not move, they care about nothing - only about their clicks.
