Another Kenmore Progressive Canister question...

So we all probably know there is a difference in machine end hose connectors between newer and old Kenmore vacuums. Most notably is the newer hose has a ridge and matching slot on the motor unit.

After making several repairs, I wondered if the difference is where the internal handle wires are attached on the 6 tab switch.

I already found by moving a wire, you can accidentally change the switch sequence from OFF, Floor, Carpet (off, motor, PN) to Off, PN only, motor.

I may be experimenting on this idea soon.
