i have never seen one of these that dosnt lean forward especialy when the bag is full the weight pulls it forward , part of its charm i think . What has always puzzled me is how all that muck gets around the motor.They still run rings round there modern counterparts

The bottom plate isn't an airtight seal, carpet fibres get rubbed off and drawn in electrostatically and via motor cooling air currents.
