Picked this one up today. It still has one dealer card and one dealer sticker on the handle. Spent a little time wiping it down and vacuuming out the Dustest bag. Checked the carbons and replaced the belt. The brushroll is missing one tuft but I'm not going to worry about it at the moment.

Great find !

Have one of the 541 myself, still running, and has the original cloth cord, plug, and black and orange "Hoover" bag...found a 725 in nearly new condition for one buck last week...shined up and ready to roll. They go on forever !

Got around to replacing the missing tuft on the brushroll also replaced the cord. It also seems happier with a 484 belt, less strain on the bearings.

I have a 541 with a story.
I live in South East Kansas (Independence). Our very own Glen Dienst lives in Albuquerque NM. He has family in my area and comes through every year and always stops to visit me. One year several years ago he had a 541 to gift me. He had bought it almost 30 years before in my area at an antique store and drove it home to NM. It was so neat to me that its from Ks and them moved all the way to NM then back home to Ks some 30 years later.

Nice one

What an odd looking brushroll those have! Atleast compared to the age of ones I normally deal with, 1970's and up usually.

And the next logical question would be where do you get 484 belts?

I live in Middle Earth so I get mine from Gandolf, he's a wizard with vacuums.
