cleaning

i usually take those apart [its only two screws]then drop all the bits in a bucket of hot soapy water leave it to soak a while it will come out like new .After a while those floor tools get totally choked up with fluff and dirt inside

the 65

its strange how the switch is a diffrent colour to the rest of the machine wonder if possibly its had a new one fitted at some point or maybe its just not as dirty as the rest of the machine

65

That looks to be a very early 65 so you are talking 1960 or so. The hose is a replacement although it looks to have been well done. The telescopic wand was included on only the earliest machines, don't know why they dropped it, probably cost. The combination carpet/floor nozzle (looks blue to me!) is from the z80 - the successor model to the 65 - no matter if you can clean it up or not, do not dispose of this, the 80 is rare and this nozzle could be of value.

Nice find, these 65s clean up well and seem to go on for years. If you have not heard of it, Autosol (from Halfords) is brilliant for cleaning up the end caps and handles - not for the main ribbed body though, you will never get it polished out.
