Very nice

Saw that myself, but I've already spent too much this week - plus I have to persuede the other half that a HMDL is just what we need in the flat! I've got a 119, but the paint is knackered after I stored it somewhere damp, sadly.

No room, no money, etc., etc. But how can a person possibly LIVE without something as fabulous as that?!? Thanks for sharing those wonderful pictures!!

Another nice 119.

Hi Guy's.

Seamus dude, that really is a corker. Mine is not quite up to that standard, but is nice none the less.

I have the tools and the instructions and receipt, but no box. Oh well, never mind.

I am really really hoping to win the U1104 in it's box on ebay.

Happy hoovering all.

BTW, here is my 119.

Hope you like her. :o)

The belt cover is rusting, and the handle has cracked badly.

curious

I'm very curious about the Junior models. Were they ever produced in the U.S. at all or even imported here? I can definately tell the base is smaller. How wide is it actually? In regards to height, are they comparable to regular upright vacs or are the shorter? How are they performance wise?

119

Since we're discussing 119's, here's mine...it's an early one, with the red lettering on the fan cover. It still has its original plug fitted - according to the person I bought it from, it was originally a wedding present, and their house had not yet been fitted with plug sockets, so they continued to run all their appliances from lamp fixtures!

The box graphics are different to the later ones - the box itself is corrugated cardboard. I wish I had the box the machine itself came in!

Jack,

Good to hear you are still alive dude. Not heard from you in a while! Well a couple of weeks anyways!! What a wonderful collection on 119's we have here.

For any of the US collectors here who do not know much about the juniors, you had these cleaners from the 115 through to the 1348. The 115 was almost identical to the 119's listed here, and the 1348 was the equivalent of outr 1346A/U1012 machines.

All the variations were seen in between with the Lark (1334 style) and so on. You guys were really provelidged to have a US only model almost equivalent with the model 12 and 14 Lark. If only one of these wonderful machines would make it across the pond, namely to my collection!!! LOL

Speak soon all, and happy hoovering.

Clark.

Great looking Juniors...congrats Seamus on your lates aquisition. It does not get any better than that! When you find everything that goes with them, you just have to snap them up. I think I have a set of tools in the box for a 119. I will have to look.

Mike...I just love the blue Junior from the '50s. There is just something about that big Hoover logo on the blue machine. It looks like a mint condition cleaner. Are there still many of those left out there being used?

1224

Tom,

The 1224 (the blue Junior) was only produced for a couple of years from 1956 to 1958 when it was replaced by the all new model 1334.

These are especially difficult to find in anything like decent condition, and this one of mikes is absolutely OUTSTANDING.

I have one which I purchased from vintagehoover (Jack) and this is not too bad, but is missing the original bag as is the bain of all collectors lives! :D

The all makes for a rare and sought after machine.

Hope this has enlightened you!

Cheers all,

Clark.

Hoover 1224

Hi Tom, The 1224 was so different from all the Brown machines that had been about, our neighbour had one and you could "Tell" when she was using it, the wheels used to squeak, which added to the wonderful sound....managed to get the tools and instructions to this as well... love that red footswitch and badge detail....
