Another Dillusional Ebay Seller

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

It's almost as bad as the idiot who has a 505 Kirby listed for $2500. How stupid do these sellers think vacuum collectors are? When I see listings like that, I realize one of two things. Either the seller is flaunting their collection, listing it so high no one will buy it but they get to 'show it off', or they are delusional about "Aunt Tilly's" old cootie infested sweeper's value. Either way, it's an insult to a serious collector.

my laugh for the day!

I applaud you guys for mentioning the ridiculous prices that some people list their items for on ebay. I don't think I have ever seen a vintage vac for that high of a price! you could purchase a rolex president for that king of dough.Bill

I just sent the seller an offer on this vacuum for $19.99. I'm not sure if he'll accept it as it's a tad low from the almost TWENTY GRAND!!! he's asking. I'm always amazed when I see listings like this.

Randy..

LMAO I think that's too funny. Hehehe I think that's still way too high ... 50 cents no tax to take it off his hands. Lord knows how many germs might infest that thing!

I'm gettin a little nervous!!

Haven't heard back from the seller on this machine and am beginning to think this thing could indeed sell! I'm sure multiple offers are now pouring in. Maybe we could form a pool of say 200 to 400 members each chipping in say, 50 to a 100 bucks each to raise the quan that will be needed to puchase this rare machine!

Notice that the ad refers folks to Daves Vacuumland thread from 2008 that deals with this particular model. Since this guy feels the vacuum is worth so much, perhaps Dave should offer to sell his to this guy for a mere ten thousand, then the seller could double his money when he finds a fool, oh pardon me, I mean buyer, willing to meet his crazy asking price. It couldn't hurt to ask.

Sold for $199.99. Still too high but much better than what it started at. Have a feeling it was edited at some point once the seller realized the error.

THAT was an error??!!! LoL

What was the description, price, how old it was or all the above??

well......

Everybody's laughing but it really DID sell for 199,00 !!! Not bad at all !
Anyway I think judging the value "20 bucks" is offensive for any other vacuum collector, even if this is only my personal opinion. You can sometime get a super good deal for 20 bucks but that's for sure not the real market value and you cannot pretend to have that price all the time, right? ( look at ebay.co,uk where any common senior 652 Hoover from the 1960s regularly sell for 80 pounds and more ! And anyway 200 dollars is not such a crazy price for someone searching for a specific vintage vacuum cleaner and wanting to avoid cold flea markets and dusty second hand shops ! Many other hobbies are much more expensive, after all !
So what's the problem ?
