The brush roll head looks just like the dyson one. For $150 it doesn't seem that bad compared to the dyson model. Still don't think any cordless vacuum can replace a corded vacuum.

I just bought a used Hoover cordless vac, and it's only 2 years old and the battery is shot. Also most cordless stick vacs can not do deep cleaning or agitation, and are only surface cleaners, and you have to recharge the vac 2-3 times at 4 hours a charge just to clean your home. So no, cordless vacs will never replace corded.

New Shark cordless

The newish Shark cordless uses battery packs and their top version comes with two batteries and a fast charger. I think they claim 40 minute run on low speed. I'm on a Parrot forum and one of the users bought one to help clean up after her flock in their aviary and she reported that it did very well picking up bird seed and big crumbs on a tile floor and pretty sure she said it did OK on carpet. I have a 18 volt Rowenta Delta force with a power head and it truly runs a half hour and claims 40 minutes at low speed. Of course it doesn't work as well as my Royals but it's good to get quick touch up or a area with some work. I might get a Shark when I find a good enough deal as I want something easy to use and bagless to use in my Parrot Dobby's area. The Rowenta doesn't do well picking up seeds and large amounts of pellets and treat crumbs. I also hate filling up the bags on my better machines with bird crumbs as it can pack a bag full quick when they are a bit smaller anyways.
I spose a shop vac would be OK but too loud and don't want to drag it around or freak Dobby out.
I think my cordless is over 3 years old now and battery still holds a charge but I think it's the newer nimh or whatever the newer tech is called.
