Tomorrow, I'll be leaving for North Canton, Ohio, to see Tom Anderson and his family. Hoover's birthday is Sunday. I've been there , now, for 13 years. It's always great to be there. I'll see Will Hemb this time too.
I'm sure there will be some vintage vacs, etc coming back to Pittston with me. I'll be sure to post some pics while I'm there.
I've prepared some nice 'edibles' to take with me as well.

Packing..................

That orange 'senior'

looks much better in Tom's house than it did at the 'palace'. There is a long, difficult story behind that machine. Suffice it to say,  I'm glad it is out of my house.  Although a great machine, it reminded me of sad events.  Now, I can visit it with it's other cleaners from "across the pond".

Well, day ONE

We went to an estate sale,  they had DDs and a Rainbow.NEXT !!  We did the thrift store thing.  I got DAM bags, Windtunnel belts, and canister belts,  an entire $.90

Wow.   The Football Hall of Fame is having a huge event tomorrow.  We'll be out of town.  Will is coming tonight.  It'll be fun, no doubt.

I did fill my car with some fun items from Dick Pike's and a few things from Tom.  Fun stuff.

Pics will follow shortly.

And, Rob,

Yes.  I, too, have made a new friend,  I'm very glad.

I got a practically, if not NEW ,NESCO frypan.  I also have 2 more vault machines: a Floor A Matic, and the commercial Conquest.  Let's all take moment to say, "Wow'.  I'm bringing lots of  Hoover non-floor care appliances to serve as gifts, raffle items, and prizes for our convention next summer in Scranton.

Looks like you had a great time! Thank you for sharing the pics, they bring back fond memories of the fun mini-meets at Tom's, the Historical Center, and the Hoover plant. One thing that surprised me, was that out of the 5 pics you posted of the Historical Center, only the first and last ones actually had Hoovers in them. I think there were vacuums in every room except the kitchen the last time I was there.
Also noticed in the pic of you with the 425 Hoover at the thrift store that there was a model 801 Royal with the rare "sidesaddle" bag next to you, a couple Bissell carpet sweepers, and a box of Kirby attachments for a Classic Omega.
Jeff

Some fun photos…

Of my day today. making a 'Pittston". treat. yummy beverage.  We found a "hybrid" set of attachments.  Inside is an almost never used "Convertible" with rear conversion with the handle "hose end" of a front conversion tool set.  Either it was done "perfectly" in a vac shop, or freak factory creation. Nonetheless, it was a great find.....an extremely rare surprise, and under $8.00 "Happy Dance".

In the display room…

There are many beautifully restored Hoover vacuum cleaners. Will is very meticulous when it comes to restoring his cleaners. They look beautiful and they run beautiful. "Flower Power" cleaners, discussions about details (on the vintage shag rug), and, of course, running a 69. You know you can always use a good 69.   Right?  What???

Well….

This says it all!  Light as a feather,  it sat on my hand, with ease. This cleaner is OVER 50 years old, looks, runs, performs like it did the day it came out of the box.

Now, who is REALLY surprised?  Just as I guessed:  nobody.  I see no hands in the air.

Thanks, Will, for a great time at your 'mid-century' home.  A great time was had by all.

Tomorrow, I'll return home.

   More to follow.  G'night, All!!!!

Hmm

It looks like you had a blast with the trip.
You do realize the Dallas cowboys are the most valuable sports team in the world. They had a player and a coach inducted into the HOF.
The game was pre season with back ups. The HOF ceremony is where I'd invest in getting access to with hundreds of great players there.
Id hit up the football thing but it's your trip and you did what you loved.
The football thing to me is like your Hoover thing.
Glad your able to get out.
