yeah, yeah, nice machines...

WOW!!! FANTASTIC JET99---- and with the tags and all. How cool is that!!! Just kidding about the other machines. GREAT!!! Robb, those are the wands I was attempting (badly) to describe to you, with the cross-hatch pattern!! Really nice stuff Andy.

Rick

Great machines, Andy.
Beautiful Universal, also love the Rexair D
Very nice.
How is your store update going??
Looks like your making progress.
We should talk sometime.

Nice Machines, Andy!

Especially the Jet 99!! And the Miele, I've never seen one that old. Is your Filter Queen a 350? Looks just like mine, and mine is a 350. I see you have the original hose. I have one too, but use a replacement when I run it, because the original leaks like a sieve!

Hey Andy - Great machines - what model is your Miele and do you have the parts for it? It looks like a silghtly newer version of my E10, which I believe was made in the early 40's.

Robb, I had never seen an all chrome Rexair either. This guy came to the store and sold that and the Filter Queen 350 to me for $20. At first I thought some vac shop had just spray painted the bottom, but when I looked closely at it, it really is the original color! From what I understand, it was awarded to Rexair salesmen for high sales.

Rick, the Universal is one of my prized pieces. A customer brought it to me last year. She was in her late 80's and had brought her blue Eureka self-propelled for me to fix. It took me about a week to get the part it needed, and she stopped in EVERY DAMN DAY to bug me about that Eureka. She was so suspicious that I had hijacked her machine that on the last day she demanded to see it in the back repair area to make sure I still had it. Well she was just pushing every one of my buttons and it took all I had not to blow up. As we talked, I told her that I collected vacuums. She asked me if I would like a Universal Jet 99, and of course I said yes. When she came to pick up her Eureka, she brought the Universal and a Kenmore Magicord canister from the 60's. I'm glad I didn't lose my temper with her!

Pat, all I have left to do in the store is some moulding work and cleanup, and for now the remodel is done. Would love to talk sometime!

Jeff, yes that is a 350. As stated above, the guy brought it to me with the Rexair. The 350 has some interesting nuances that the other Filter Queens don't have. The latches don't go all the way to the dolly for example. This one's gonna need a good cleaning. The dirt must have sat in it for 50 years and it smells like it.

Andy,

What a great collection! Thanks for having the pictures shared with the rest of us.

I am still in awe over your demonstrations last year at the convention. You and Duane did a superb job of marketing your products. Takes me back to the days when Kirby and Electrolux would come knocking at the door. Of course, I would let them in before my mother could say "NO".

I can't remember hearing or seeing your older Miele running...
the mind is a awful thing to loose...

Doug, my model is an E10 as well. I was looking at a piece of Miele literature that said these dated from the late 30's. I need to do some snooping around and get a definite timeline on Miele history.

Morga, you're not loosing your mind. I don't think I ran the Miele at the convention since I couldn't find a 220 outlet. I loved doing the Miele demo. If I can swing it, I'd love to grab one of the all new uprights that are coming out this year and do a demo in North Canton!

Wow! what a great running thread. I love the Miele too. Have never seen one like that and all the tools with it.
Andy, would love to see the new upright. My favorite vac shop
here in Columbus sell them, too.

OMGG

LOgan I am coming to vsit right now!! I love your vacs.. you hav einspired me to start collecting more...I especially lovee the all chrome rainbow...and the constellation 86.....wowo!

Andy my friend, what a fantastic collection you have! Such fun to see a vintage Miele as well! I'd seen a picture of a really old one and of course the newer ones, but not any inbetween ones. It's interesting in canisters all the experimentation over years with different shapes and what not. I didn't realize the model D3 went all the way back to 1980

The (all) chrome D is just amazing, and the Gold Crown is my favorite of the Rotomatics. I have the 86 in blue, and have for one of my convertibles the original receipt from Dayton's, which was our big dept. store in Minneapolis. Very cool pieces all. I know you and Logan had a great time and I will be dropping you mail later! Scott
