LOL.....well, that's one way to keep your rugs clean. In our culture, you chase rug dirt with vacuums. It's hard to imagine any other way. But then again, there's plenty of old archival film footage of people beating rugs outside, hung over lines, way back before I was born. Probably where the term 'rug beater' came from.......

I remember my mother doing exactly that, hanging the rugs on the clothes line and beating them. But then again the first vacuum I remember in our home was a 1957 vintage Lewyt Big Wheel.
