So I just put into the live site some new programming I've been working on for a while. This ***should*** only effect people using mobile phones, but I would appreciate it if everyone would be on the lookout for bugs both mobile and regular computer users because of this change.

If you have a mobile phone like an iPhone or Droid can you guys try out the site and view some threads. I'm going to do this in baby-steps, so the only portion of the site that has gone mobile yet is the navigation bar and the threads themselves. So please view some threads on your phone and let me know how it looks and what kind of phone you have.

Thanks everyone!

Robert

I'm viewing it on an android as well and it looks great to me! I will check it on my iPhone here shortly and see if it looks good there too! Thanks!

Oh BTW, I really appreciate all of your hard work on the site and it really looks awesome since the upgrade!

Great thank you Ray and Steve for checking!

Thank you again for your kind words Steve as well, it is much appreciated.

This is only the very beginning of a mobile site for Vacuumland and automaticwashers, over the next six months I really want to make the site easier to read on our phones since so many of us are reading the site on the road.

so is this an application

Well the entire site is an application so to speak. The browser is redirected to a different program if it detects a mobile browser, unless you switch it off.

Robert, I checked the site from my Samsung Galaxy Relay running Android Ice Cream Sandwich and wondered why the text looked different! I thought something was wrong with my phone! It looks great... the new thinner font is easier to read and I can view in landscape or portrait orientation without having to zoom or side scroll... very nice! Typing a post is still a nightmare because of all the side scrolling, but I know you haven't done that part yet... but thank you!

One thing I noticed.... I was typing a post on the "car" thread in the off topic section from my phone (on the phone now too) and I made a correction to the text... I accidentally hit "post" instead of "preview" and my corrections went through anyway.... good thing in this case but I can see how that would be a problem if someone posted mistakes they thought they had fixed.

This is a sample of text I typed to test whether or not it would post without pressing update and preview first... it should be non-existent.... if you can read this, there is a bug, because I only hit post after typing this.

Hi Bobby, thank you for testing, I'm glad its easier to read.

I'm not exactly sure I understand what you are saying at the end, but I don't believe that is a bug. You see I designed the system so the very first time you enter text you have to hit preview, but after that you can hit preview or post. Whenever you hit the post button it will accept whatever is in the text box, whether you've previewed it or not.
