well I am already for this year's big Vac Convention sadly I cannot bring any of my collection to show off since I am flying but have everything booked and paid for. I look forward to this every year and seeing all the nice fellow collectors that attend. I have learned so much attending these conventions. I am getting so excited what I will buy and find this year!! ! I hope some year it will be in a town I can drive to but every new convention is a adventure. Vac Convention 2016 here I come YAY!!!

I talked with Chad tonight.

Things are looking good.

I'm compiling a "Memoriam" book, honoring all of our deceased members.

  I need your help.

I need some bio information, and, if anyone has,  pics of them.

 So far, I have:

Terry

Brother Chris

Craig Long

Stacey Krammes

Stan Hagan

Stan Kann

David Waters

If there are others, (I think there are),I'll need info so I can rightfully honor them.

 Thanks.

Also Shaylee, managed to get time off so she will be my guest. Oh Lord she has no idea what's she's getting herself into. I'm very excited for her to meet all the people I talk about all the time (favorably of course). I really think this year will be amazing. I have such a good feeling about it. I mean it's Chicago! That alone is exciting plus getting to see some old friends non of us have seen in a long time up there. Yup I'm getting butterflies!

Convention schedule?

Last year there was a Schedule of events. I haven't seen one at all this year. I'll include last year's schedule so you can see what I mean. Definitely looking forward to seeing everybody this year!

The Convention sounds awesome! I wish I could afford to go, but alas a trip to the Midwest is just not in the budget. I wish you all a great time, so envious and wish I could play too!

One of the first fellow-collectors I met (via phone and mail only) -- in 1991, via Stan Kann. A funeral director and church organist, he was a "closet" vacuum cleaner collector. His family had no idea of his passion until after his death when they began to go through his (apparently rather cluttered house) and found a basement full of old (mostly 1920s) vacuum cleaners. They found my name and contact info in his files and got in touch to let me know he had passed away.
