Airway Sanitation system

so, I just acquired one of these old little appreciated machines ( compared to many other classic brands/models) and am quite hoping that I can actually use it on my hard-floors. I have taken it apart to clean and inspect it ....steel wool polishing etc but realized the 'glass' turnable "Dust indicator Assembly' won't budge whatsoever! I shot penetrating fluid all around it trying to loosen it but to no avail so far. Can anyone help me with understanding how to 'unfreeze' it possibly?

I read two other threads on it looking for answers. I realized this one is missing the felt part ( Combination Felt and brush assembly)....might any of you know where I might acquire one? Any collectors who might have an extra?

I plan on putting a replacement internal bag on it ( saw on a you tube video) of a Windsor type bag could be used.....but I might just construct a hepa bag too.
I'd appreciate anything anyone might add here help this project!

I put some oil in the 'grease' ports....checked the brushes and there's still enough there....though I plan on cleaning the communtator before really using it. Looks like it was last serviced in 1990.

Great find.

I have two of these. The model shown here and the model with the first motorized brush. While both are now strictly for display, they saw a lot of use when I first got them back in the early and mid 1970's. I also have hardwood floors but mine are polyurethane treated, and as the back wheels are almost 100 years old would scratch. These were not designed for wall to wall carpeting, and certainly not todays carpets or even area rugs they were designed for hardwoods and low nap area rugs so this should meet your needs nicely. Did you get the hose? it is very small in length and fit directly on the hollow handle. May I suggest you read the instruction manual. First it gives a detailed look at how the Air-Way was used, as well as an amusing look at hair styles, outfits, and so on. Keep in mind this was just the start of the roaring twenties. Clearly you have an awesome find. Treasure it.

I like this model, very cool I’d say. I’ve been trying like crazy to get that airway valve to move but it simply won’t . I hope someone can give me insight on how to make it move. It simply won’t budge
