Air-Way...the death knell

Not a pie safe. I have family room, dining room and bedroom furniture from the same company that I bought over 20 years ago! We should have all posted our favorite Hoover's when Hoover left.
I never saw anyone put the Attacha-carrier on the side! You learn something new every day. Ours was always placed on the back with the wheel coming through the hole in the carrier. It wasn't until I joined the vac club that I ever saw an Air-Way used on it's side. You have some very beautiful examples.

Here is a model we have note seen yet. This came from Charlie Watrous's collection to mine a year or so ago. It is one of my favorites. Introducing the All New Model 77

And of course let's not forget what made Air-Way famous for all those years. The first paper bag that did not leak. Ask Charlie for some demonstration tips...if he just talks about a white mens handkercheif,,,then ask for more...

Rob,

Your 66 is georgous!!! That must be a replacement hose, as I think the original would have been brown. If I get time I will post the Instruction Manual for that machine.

I believe the hose to be original on the Model 77 that I purchased from Charlie, it doesn't carry suction well anymore, so I have a vinyl hose that I use for normal use. It also still has the aroma pad/filter as well.

I can still remember my grandmother pulling the kitchen table close to the refridge, setting the model 66 on it's runners, placing the S wands in the blower port to defrost the freezer on our Philco Refridgerator. Oh the memories!!

The 77 is my favorite, too.

Here are some photos of an Air-Way product that not many people have seen, an air-powered floor polisher.

Air-Way

Morgan,
I still have the original hose for the 66. Ours was maroon with blue stripping that matches the color of the machine. It leaks some air now but not bad for almost 50 years old. My favorite model was the 77. When I used my 66 today I had almost forgotten how quiet the old machines were when in use.

The Air-Way Memorial Corner.

Fortunately, Felix will never know a world without Air-Way.

55, 77, 66 and a Green Godess.

Morgan, that's a stunning red striped green hose.

Oh Charles, another gorgeous floor polisher...*sigh*

Air-Way

Morgan,
That is one of the nicest 77 I have ever seen. Very beautiful example. When I was small people would tell you with pride that they owned an Air-Way Sanitizor. One of my earliest memories was when a friend of the family brought their 66. They came to visit our house and brought the Air-Way to show my parents. I was about three and still remember her setting it in the middle of the room and the hose revolving around the room. Of course my parents had to have an Air-Way!
