I couldn't believe my eyes! Wandered into my study and the TV happened to be on. There before my eyes was a television commercial on the NBC affiliate for the local Aerus Branch Office [I think only one of two in the metro Memphis area].

They showed the Guardian; then the Ultralux upright and the Built-in Central System. They mentioned that they are the parts and service center for all Electrolux made before 2003. I don't think I have ever seen an Aerus [Electrolux] television commercial before this.

Yes, that is surprising.

As far as I know, Electrolux vacuum cleaners have never advertised on television in the U.S. - only print ads in Ladies Home Journal, Good Housekeeping and Better Homes and Gardens.

Servel-Electrolux refrigerators were much more widely advertised, in the above magazines plus Saturday Evening Post, American Home and many others -- even Time and Newsweek!

there was/is a Price is Right clip on YouTube that includes a commercial for Electrolux, from around 1980. looked like a national commercial, IIRC featured the president of Electrolux. let me see if i can find it.

I remember some TV ads in the "70's featuring the president of Electrolux- I think his last name was McKee.

He talked about how you could expect an Electrolux to last around 20 years

Again...

This evening just before the 5 PM evening news the same Aerus[Electrolux] television ad came on again. This time I saw the whole thing.

It begins with a full screen picture of an Electrolux Model XXX and goes on about remembering Electrolux the "home cleaning experts." Well Electrolux is now Aerus and all your "home cleaning solutions are right here at Aerus." It mentions that Aerus now contintues the traditions of quality always associated with Electrolux.

Shows the Guardian, talks about it's versatility and power and hepa filter; then the Lux Lite, then the Central Vac System. Then it mentions that they are the service, parts, and accessories center for all Electrolux made before 2003.

Then it invites everyone to visit their store on Germantown Parkway in Cordova [a Memphis, TN suburb]

Anyway, that's it. Thought you'd all like to know.
