I love my Platinum and have kept it in nearly new condition since I bought it early last year, all the time using it as my primary vac. My wonderful wife decided to use it today and in less than an hour has seriously muffed the power nozzle top cover. If anyone knows where to find a new cover (the version with a silver inset) let me know. Before I cry.

Thanks Dan

I'll check with the 2 branches near me. As of last November there were no parts available for the Platinum, other than bags and filters.

Welcome

if Aerus doesn't have the part no one will that's a 100% guarantee .Basically any new vacuum parts will always be available through the manufacturer for a few years because of patents plus they reserve the right to sell parts before releasing them to the after market .

Let me

Know what you find out. I like the look of the stainless steel sticker on the PN and asked my dealer if he could order a power nozzle like that and he said they don't make it anymore even for parts, which I find hard to believe. I never let my girlfriend vacuum if she does it's the oreck platinum breast cancer edition which she loves, otherwise I' tell her dobt go near anything lol.

Thanks guys. I will check the parts situation out this Friday and report back.

life would be easier if I were not a perfectionist:)

Your aerus lux dealer should be able to order parts for you even if they don't have it in stock. My local dealer got me a few parts I was looking for earlier on.

I checked with the branch manager who sold me the Platinum, David Smith in Winston-Salem, about availability of a power nozzle cover. He did not have one, so he emailed corporate. Their reply was that this early style is NLA. I did not know that there have been three versions of the Platinum power nozzle already!

I checked with three other area branches and no luck for the first version. So at this point, I wait for a non-abused machine to be traded in. If anyone sees the Platinum nozzle with the silver inlay at a vac shop, I will buy it, the entire machine if necessary.

I want to mention that David is a great guy and really cares about his product and customer!
