Aerus/Electrolux Canister Bags

Hi Everyone,

I know we have had a few threads on vacuum bags, but I have a questions about bags for Aerus/Electrolux canister bags specifically. Of course there are the Home Solution bags from Aerus, generic bags and these new HEPA bags from Perfect Vacuum (the Chinese company that builds a knockoff of the old Electrolux). Has anyone purchased the Perfect HEPA bags? Are they any good?

I have Perfect Hepa bags now, I use them when I pick up an Electrolux or Aerus that takes the C bag.


There a good quality vacuum bag. If they weren't so expensive I would probably send them with all


the vacuums I sell or keep!

The Perfect Canister bags are wonderful! I highly recommend them and I think they are worth every penny you pay for them. Years ago before Electrolux was "Aerus", Electrolux made IOTA bags. They were white in color and were high filtration paper bags, sort of like Kirby's paper Micron Magic bags. The IOTA bags filtered well, not as well as the Perfect bags, but better than the standard 4-ply bags. I can't comment on after market bags since I have never used them in my machines, but if I dont have Perfect HEPA bags then I will use the regular genuine Aerus bags. If you switch to the HEPA bags you will immediately notice a difference in filtration, especially if you have any type of allergy to dust, and also a difference in airflow.

Well dont you get a cyclonic action in the bags in aerus vacuums? How does that work

I use the Perfect bags in my Lux 1205 and love them. I don't think of them as all that pricey, not compared to genuine bags. They filter very nicely and seem to be well made. You should not have any problems with them.

Was it you that said you felt that the cloth synthetic bags lessened the airflow somewhat as opposed to the 4 ply paper?

I've read different opinions on that. Some say that it actually increases & maintains airlow longer, while others say the airflow isn't as good.

I'm confused on that.


The only thing I have to compare is when I used synthetic cloth bags in my Kenmore, they did not lessen airflow at all. Not only did they not clog as quickly, but the airflow was slighly better IMO

Mark, I think you may have me confused with someone elses posts. From the moment I started using the Perfect bags I have had nothing but great things to say about them. There was a previous thread on the forum not too long ago where I put in my 2 cents and again I had nothing but great things to say about them. My only complaint is that Aerus/Electrolux doesn't make their own version of HEPA bags.

I think the HEPA bags increase air flow, maybe not a huge increase but, they do maintain a stronger air flow longer, which to me is more important than increasing its strength.

IOTA vs. HEPA

I haven't tried either one on my Luxes; but maybe I might buy Home Solutions (formerly IOTA) bags or Perfect HEPA bags & try them out on my Models G, L, 1205 & Diplomat.

btw, the Diplomat is a recent curb-side find; I picked it up yesterday. It does NOT have any tools, only the hose when I saw it on the curb. I'm currently using it to vacuum the car with the Wessel Werk HEB160.

I probaby do have you confused with someone else

I just remember reading someone say they thought the perfect hepa bags cut down on the airflow so they did not use them. Yet others say the exact opposite, so I wasn't sure. Based on my Kenmore cloth bag vs paper, I'd have to agree that they increase airflow somewhat & that increased airflow lasts much longer as the bag fills. I can only assume that same would be true in my 6500 epic.

<span style="font-family: georgia,palatino;">I tried the Endust brand HEPA bags & they seem to do a good job filtering the air better than the 4-ply bags. The rubber seal on the HEPA bags also seal more tightly than the 4-ply bags. So I will NEVER use a paper bag in any Lux again.  Ever again.</span>

The white cloth type material bags are definitely better for air flow and dust retention. I still have a few of the old Electrolux IOTA bags left from when I had my vacuum store. My 2nd floor daily driver is a Hoover Windtunnel Power Drive and I have to say, the machine is going on 4 years old and we only use the white HEPA Genuine Hoover bags in it, and I have to say not only does the machine always have great suction even with the bag close to being filled and there is no dust at all in the bag compartment.

Usually despises anything under 40 years old, I must say the Perfect bags are fantastic, Morgan sent me a package of them and I cant get over how good they are.

Has anyone ever used the Riccar Type T bags in an Aerus (Electrolux) tank? If so, are they good quality?

Also, are HEPA bags for Aerus (Electrolux) uprights available?

Just found DVC brand Style U Allergy Performance synthetic bags on Amazon. Can anyone here speak to their effectiveness?

DVC synthetic bags

I use the style U in my Aerus Lux Guardian upright and so far so good. I use the style C (same material/quality as the U) in my Super J and no issue with those either. Power/Airflow is better than the paper ones, especially noticeable in the Super J.

Lux Bags

Hi,

I would like to try the Riccar take on the Electrolux bag. It does not really surprise me that Aerus is still pushing the blue Home Solutions bags, kinda goes along with their plastic Wal-Mart wand system they have been overly proud of through the years. I always thought the original 4 ply Electrolux bags made @ Bristol were better than the blue ones. The P bags are synthetic due to the bursting issues caused by the suction of the Guardian Platinum, otherwise they would be blue as well.

The Iota bags were a higher filtration bag than the ones Perfect or other manufacturers make as the spun-woven polypropylene construction was .1 micron vs .3 micron filtration. This is often referred to as ULPA or finer than HEPA. Perhaps even today, the best vacuum bag ever made from a filtration standpoint but very thick in construction compared to a Miele, sebo or Riccar synthetic bag.
