Aeoliandave...someone is trying to use pics of your vacs to sell one on DC craigslist

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

Hey, that's my back porch and my upright Kenmore and my Kirby and my dog sleeping on the walk. Maybe we should call Gary and ask for a percentage of the profits

$35 and you don't even get the hose or tools either. That's robbery. IIRC that picture was taken the day that we found that Eureka and I can assure you Dave didn't pay half that much for it.

Yup, that'd be me on that humid 90 degree day doing my second best Burt Reynolds Cosmo pose. It's flattering to be chosen as the representative of 'some people who collect vintage vacuum cleaners' but had I known I would have done my Mostest Best-est Burt Reynolds Cosmo pose. :-)

Considering how much effort this dork put into purloining pictures you woulda thought he'd have gotten some accurate vacuum terminology through his thick skull.

Using my pictures doesn't bother me a bit but the third picture he's using is from Doug Smith's site. So, it does bother me that this Gary fellow has posted NO pictures of his own or what he allegedly has for sale. I'd probably write to correct and admonish but he really has no need to have my email address. Anyone else please feel free to castigate the dork for false visual advertising...and suggest he take some honest pictures of his own of what could be a rusted out, dented, scratched & gouged Rotted-o-matic.

Eureka - Super Roto-matic Model 910
115 V AC/DC 750 W Year: 1956 Price: $69.95

This Roto-matic and a White with Canton Red rubber trim & float ring 1963/64 Canadian Constellation model 438 were literally lying in a field covered in mud & weeds when I came across them. Pete seemed doubtful about saving them but I just had to. Along with a dusty old Filter Queen, The Viking 107, my first blue Monitor cylinder and that extra special turquoise plastic dog clipper hose that now graces one of the GE Roll-Easys. Yes, Sunday, October 07, 2007 was a great day.

Dave, who came home from local thrifting with some stuff today.

I gotta hand it to you Dave....

You have certainly handled this whole thing with grace. I don't know if I could have done as well. Same for Pete and Doug! Once, I got an E-mail from a lady that had "googled" Atlas vacuum cleaner and it freaked me out a little! She didn't start out telling me how she had gotten my E-mail address. So, I asked her. It was through here. After she convinced me she wasn't a serial Atlas stalker, we had conversation. Still, you know? Good job, and I agree, take your own damn pictures!

I didn't realize that was also Dougs picture there too. so there is no picture of what he is selling.

Its very tempting to email the seller and ask him what his machine really looks like - as NON of the pictures he has up are his. LOL

Awww, what a sweet thing to say, Christine. :-)

We haven't heard from you in such a long time. What's new or old with you in your neck of the woods? Trust it is all pretty darn good...

Dave, in deep fog and the first 'spring' melt all day - flood warnings are up.
