Hello, many thanks for allowing me to join your group. I have recently acquired a 1940’s Tellus R40 vacuum cleaner, made in Denmark. It’s spun aluminium shell / casing design is stunning, and it is in full working order ( although it could do with a good clean, which I intend to do this weekend ) It has the original hose, and attachment heads, but the hose is a bit frayed, and has some tape around a repair.
I have tried to research it, but I’ve found very little. I understand it’s a pretty rare machine, so I was hoping someone could help give me an idea of what it’s value might be. I am joint owner of an Antique shop, so after I have given in a good clean, and have had my enjoyment looking at its lovely design, I will probably put it in the shop for sale.
Any information will be gratefully received.
Kind regards
Vinni

Hi Vinni

Our own Charles Lester (electrolux137) may
be able to help, or put you in touch with
a Tellus collector. Charles' own cyber-museum
site features the Paul Linnell collection,
which includes Telluses (M20, S50).

Thanks guys, I appreciate your input. I’m not very computer savvy, and have never joined a forum before, so I’m not quite sure how things work. How do I get in touch with Charles Lester ( electrolux137 ) ?
Apologies for being so green
Kind regards
Vinni

You can send him a message from VacuumLand

You should see something like the illustration below at the top of your VacuumLand screen. If you click on it, it will take you to the VacuumLand Messaging System. You can click on "Send New Message", select Charles' user name (electrolux137) from the drop-down list, and then type your message to him.

BTW I wanted to say that this machine reminds me of an early Nilfisk machine! Maybe Tellus made Nilfisk's early machines for them -- or vice versa?

Hope this information helps you. Good luck to you!

Thanks Tazcatsdad, much appreciated.
I have done some research on my Tellus, but I couldn’t find a great deal of information, however I did find that what you have just said is right about the link between my machine and Nilfisk.
Many thanks again.
Vinni
