Advice please

Im looking for a good canister vacuum cleaner with a powerhead, with good suction uk equivalent of 900 watts plus and has plenty of tools

I'm considering either a hoover celebrity or an electrolux model, what do people recommend (I'm base in the uk but figure i can just you a travel plug with the machine

Any recommendations advice would be appreciated

Hi Dan

I've never owned nor used a Celebrity, but I understand that they're quite powerful.

I do own Electroluxes, and have been very pleased with them.
I have both the Epic 6500, and the Ambassador III.
The nearly identical machines are also available under the Aerus brand, with a few different model names.
Some consider them loud, but I don't feel that it's excessive.

Won't you need a power converter?
By that I don't mean a simple little plug for plugging a US small AMP plug into a European outlet; I mean a big heavy box that will transform from UK 220 volt to U.S. 110 volt?

An excellent power nozzle cleaner is the Miele C3 Electro EcoLine that you can order from Miele in Germany directly...you’ll only need a plug adapter for this one and I’m sure you can even upgrade the power nozzle later to the deluxe version with a headlight.

Big heavy box---transformer.They can step down the voltage or step it up--120-240V or 240V-120V.

I'm no expert


I don't think (A) will cut it.
(B) might work for small vacs.
(C) would be best for a canister with power nozzle, especially when you factor in starting surge.
