Warm days,

Greetings David! Today we have snow on the ground. Saturday, our high will be 54f.
Yesterday was a steady change from rain to snow to sleet. I though I was in Atlanta Georgia.

Mid 70's,

I'd love it. I love California. I've only been to San Diego.
I have cousins out there I've never met. One not far from you.
Six of them grew up in Whittier.
My parents are gone now, so the only one who keeps in touch with my aunt is my one sister. They are both 88, and 93 ish, and still living on their own.
They used to ask my folks to move out there all the time.
I met my aunt and uncle when they toured the entire Canada and USA.
I took them to Downtown Detroit. It wasn't so bad yet in 1990.

Actually Max doesn't mind getting vacuumed, but it makes the bags stink! He is a never ends groomer and has death breath at his age. Plays in the shower every day, on his own, but that doesn't clean much. Always been a bit of a stinker in getting his way.

re; Max,

He's cute. I had cats years ago. Scooter, and Misty. Just tabbys. I couldn't take Scooter to my new apartment. No pets allowed. The manager told me either the cat went, or I'd be out in 17 days.
Old gold shag carpet I tried to get clean for three days. Stained by an old lady's shoes where she sat and smoked on her "davenport" he told me. The place had not been painted when I saw it. It smelled like an ashtray.
He would not replace the carpet but made me get rid of my cat.
I only moved there because the rent was $375/mo. in 1993.

We aren't allowed pets either? However I pre date the landlady, she inherited from her parents, call me the spoiled step child? Could do anything I wanted! 35 years here, not much daughter can do either. Old places, I am the living legend to what mods and locations of things here dad did forever!

and yes there is a small discount on the rent, due to my own improvements? or lack of missed rent/ repairs, never sure about it! like $50, but that is 600 a year.

re, rents, etc.

David, that's great! $600 is almost a nice trip!
I do it all here as far as upkeep of the yards, house, appliances, and cars.
I like having a big back yard. Thinking of getting a new dog in spring.

Trip? Never happen! If its not needed, pretty much is a no go. And its hard for me to go anywhere, lower back/ hip. Airport is an hour away, I would be in RUIN in a car that long.

I reply: I'm with you on that one and I live less than an hour from you. Weather's been totally schizo this week. Highs Tuesday and Wednesday in '60s and low '70s—high winds blew some shingles off my roof—and today will probably top out in the upper 40s or low 50s. You know what they say about weather in North Carolina—If you don't like it, just wait five minutes and it'll change on you.

The only time I've ever bathed my cat was the day I got her. She'd been living outside and had fleas pretty bad. It took two of us to hold her in the tub and she was a lot smaller then. These days, she likes to get on the edge of the tub, on the outside of the plastic liner, and let me spray water on her from the inside. She apparently likes the sensation of the water hitting her without getting her wet. Talk about having your cake and eating it too...

Max every morning, warming up the shower water, he climbs in, plays with it around the drain and sits down in it! Bath has to be in the laundry tub, I can hold onto him and not bend over, if he is faced the wrong way and sees the escape route, ie the washer? Gone, even at 16. he gets even later by sitting on every piece of furniture while still wet, bit of an ass like that.Loves the big top wood surface of my Pioneers
