16 Years?

How your family didn't feel the urge throw it down the stairs in 16 years i'll never know.

Now run a nice older Hoover with an Activator or Beater Bar over the carpet and you'll see 16 years worth of hidden dust.

It beats as it sweeps as it cleans. It's that simple.

Need we say more Alex?

Go on Citroen, get a nice old Hoover, I bought a Turbopower Junior U1426 for just £5, leant it to my neightbour, and filled a third of a bag after she'd been round with her pleated Vax.

yes so would I now but is does give me backache and does no go right up the stairs

and bags are £1.50 per pack

the dyson washable filter are 8 month old

we never buy dyson genuine belts

Panasonic belts are about £2.00 per pack

It sounds like your Dyson did lose suction and will be buried in the carpet after a short service.

As they say in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy DON'T PANIC

well

There louder then most newer machines, awful filtration they literally blow the dust out, build quality is literally non existent, juniors have that annoying issue with the brush roll clips vibrating not to mention the terrible hose suction and the fact the belts always snap, seniors are very heavy, turbopowers crack, split and vibrate not to mention they are loud, have poor hose suction and tp2s have the issue with the brush roll bearings and bag doors not to mention being heavy and quite frankly not that good, older machines may perform better on carpets but have many issues that people need you need to consider, I like my older machines but couldn't be bothered with them all the time, modern machines are a vast improvement over the 70s cleaners just because the dont beat the living daylights out of the carpet doesn't mean they dont clean to a high standard, obviously the dc01 is not a good machine at all really lol, my point is, is that you dont need to get a Hoover with activator the clean carpets when there are many modern machines that will perform to a good standard. I guarantee this will fall on deaf ears as collectors are as stubborn red wine stain on a shag pile carpet.[this post was last edited: 6/4/2014-15:32]

you don't mince your words there do you?

Steve as you may know i am blunt and strait to the point, I mean no offence in what I say, I also forgot the mention that many older cleaners are very small and have short cables

wasn't this

That DC01 you kept going on about 'only being used __ Times' and in mint shape? It makes me think of all the battle-scared Kirbys and HOOVERS and EUREKAS out there, beating and sweeping after DECADES of use!

Jamie, it is aBritish made Dyson, no wonder it lasted long. Plus Dyson are the best bagless vacuums you can get, and the DC01's were fairly reliable in their time. I still see DC04's and DC01's and a DC03 being used today! (Not by me, but from relatives, friends or family friends)
