Well, as I said in the last thread, me and Davis went to his work today. This one is very rare I think. It is called the Anser. No "W" in it either. It is all original, just needs a new Brushroll and headlight lens. It runs very nicely though. This must be very hard to find, a few other collectors nor I have seen one before. One of the guys there said it was made to compete with the Hoover 28, and it is very similar to it in many ways.

A very long time ago (1985), I worked for a large vacuum shop in Raleigh NC. They had one of these in the basement. It was identified with the Silver King name/logo. I don't know if S.K. actually made it themselves or of this could have been re-branded, but I do remember the look of it. Very distinctive.

Universal ?

It's motor and chrome houseing looks like a mold of the 1950's
Universal upright vacuums. Like the one on the back of the current news letter ?

I Was Thinking The Same Thing, Norm!

Maybe Universal, or possibly something Birtman (BeeVac or Kenmore) might have produced during that time period.

Anser

The anser is indeed nothing more than the old Universal upright with a Hoover brushroll...

But aren't Universal uprights difficult to find? I'd love to have the Kenmore version. I would think finding a lens for this model will be rarer than hen's teeth.
