A Thread for Terry L.

Hi All!! I was graciously invited to attend the mini-meet that Terry L. (luxg) had at his home in Florida, but was unable to attend due to my Mom's recovery from complete knee replacement, and since it looks like I'll have to wait until next year to attend my first Convention due to financial reasons, I thought I'd send Terry and the rest of you guys a few pics of his favorite machine, the Lux Model G. BTW Terry, if you have another meet this year, I'll try my best to make it, since Mom's doing much better. Here they are, first, an early turquoise G with the matching 3-brush polisher.

Next, a tan G that belonged to my Aunt Kathy's parents, and when they passed on, she and her two sisters gave it to me, and were tickled to death that I restored it.

The Lux Model G has a special place in my heart,,,they were a very popular machine where i was growing up. There evidently was a very busy Electrolux office in the area.

A favorite Aunt had the torquise (sp?) model G, bought new in 1964.
They had several different types of carpet in their very large 1960s home. I always loved to go over there and "Help" her vacuum!
It was fun to see how the Model G and PN 1 handled that large house and all the different types of carpet without missing a beat.
As primitive as the PN 1 is today,,i can still remember being very impressed as to how clean the carpets were and the entire house was after using the Model G with PN1. I remember her house as being absolutely spotless at all times.

This Aunt was one of those persnickity 1950/60s housewives where there couldnt possibly be one speck of dirt or dust showing in her house, or else she was on the warpath!,,with the Model G in tow, of course!

Interesting too that she wouldnt have anything but an Electrolux in her home. I know there was an old Model XXX in the garage, that uncle used to clean out the garage, cars, and furnace with. It was evidently replaced in the house by the Model G.

I remember they traded the Model G for a new Electrolux Olympia 1 in around 1980 when they first came out. Had to keep up with the times! haha

Great stuff! You've got all the matching attachments. They just look great all together. I think Terry will be so pleased that you thought of him and posted these pictures.

Rick is so right!! I am so pleased that you thought of me and posted these pictures. You sure do have some beautiful machines. Sometime I will have to take some pictures of my G collection to share with you. IMHO I still feel that the G is Electrolux at its finest!!! And Gee, don't wait until another gathering just get the guys together and come on down anytime!!! I sure wish that you were going to be able to make it to the convention Toby, I know that you would have a wonderful time. Thanks again!!! Terry

GREAT pictures!! I can't wait to see them in person. Very thoughtful of you to think of Terry. He's a great guy, very giving to others and I was glad to see this thread dedicated to him. It is characteristic of him to open his home to friends and he is a FABULOUS host.

I like my model G. It's the factory rebuilt one I got last year in Ohio. I never realized it was available with a power nozzle until Chad or Dave pointed it out.
