Hey all,

I'm kind of beating myself up.

I had no easy way of making the approximately 45 minute/one hour drive.

Someone had an ad on our local Craigslist for some free items.

There was no contact information; just the address. The stuff was located in the back of a pickup truck...help yourself.
The cut-off was 3:00 this afternoon.

One of the items that appeared to be left behind in the updated picture, most likely to meet an unpleasant fate, was a gold colored Hoover Celebrity.
It said it had its attachments.
In the picture, you could see the hose, wand, floor tool and dusting brush.
The description said it worked, but that it was a three speed motor, and stuck in the highest speed.

I was under the impression that Celebrities floated...like Constellations.
This Celebrity appeared to have wheels.
Did they do away with the floating feature, maybe on later models?

I really wish I could have rescued it.
Even if only to offer it free to someone on here who could give it the love it needed.

Actually...here's the link.

That is

The same machine my Mother bought new in about 77 or 78, a Celebrity 2 Powermatic, it had wheels and did not float, it was one speed but had a 3 position pushbutton suction regulator on the machine, It was a powerful good cleaner….and I hated it...I wanted a Electrolux Super J!

Suction control

Ah. I see that now, going back and re-reading the description.
It's the suction control that's stuck.
Any idea if that's something that could have been fixed?
It really didn't look like it was in bad shape.
I would have dragged it home if I could have gotten there.

Would that model have had a power nozzle?
