Looks like Canada's oldest department store chain, The Hudson Bay Company, otherwise known as The Bay, is going out of business :-(
A very sad day for Canadian retail indeed. The last traditional department store in Canada. I have very fond memories of The Bay, Zellers, Woolworths and Eatons. To see a business like this that has been operating successfully for 355 years just disappear is very saddening and disheartening to me.
I only hope they can save some of the stores and restructure....but it doesn't look likely at all.
