Power head....

Yup this one has a power head - Vax have 3 models currently with one. Guessing it's got something to do with the TTI connection....

It does look well thought out, and I particularly like the small footprint it has when stood on end. At first glance it appears to have a Dyson Telescope-esque hose and wand setup, but from reading the manual it's actually a conventional separate telescopic wand which I prefer. Separate tools, as opposed to one those daft combo things, is another plus point, and I'm always happy to see another powerhead.

Something tells me it might get hung up easily on door frames and furniture, but I'll reserve judgement on that until I've seen one close up. The only thing that really bothers me is the 1.5 metre (5') hose, if the stats on the Argos website are correct. Maybe keeping it nipping at your heels is the key to stopping it getting caught up on obstacles behind you? Really though I'd prefer 1.8 metres (6') as an absolute minimum, preferably even more.

It is a bit spendy, but Vax products usually do launch with a vastly inflated price tag. That will soon come down, especially considering Vax run more sales than DFS throughout the course of the year.

Roll Easy for the 21st Century

I love the color and styling but I can see several issues that would prevent me buying and would not be a good fit for my use:
(1) power cord too short
(2) hose way too short
(3) bulky wands
(4) no rug guard on the power brush
(5) no light for power nozzle
Same issues I had with the Miele canisters.

I bought one!

Myself and a few others have purchased one of these each as they are £stupidcheap at the moment!

Mine should be here tomorrow, I imagine 2 others will be too as we all ordered before 12pm!

Can't wait. Do have a black Miele S5 to put on ebay though, and a DC05 to sell to pay for it!

i had a while ago and wasn't that impressed it got caught on stuff very easily and the power head is really inconvenient to use i have to use it the right way or it doesn't touch the floor and the tools are just too big and the cyclone terrible the filter gets really dirty very quickly but it's a great collectors piece and cleaned very well £100 very good for the price

When it comes to bagless

it's multi-cyclonic or bust. Why would Vax even bother if it's going to be another high-maintenance, poor filtering bagless that takes a major step backward, while hyping its forward-thinking? If a company can't design a proper bagless filtration setup, just make the cleaner bagged and throw a baker's dozen in the box.

I am with HenryDrefuss-If they came up with a BAGGED version with more useful handtools-I would buy. After looking at the pictures of the filters when the machine was used--would YOU want to clean out that mess??YUCK!!!At least with a Rainbow you could dump the water bin and mess outside in the plant bed!

It's cute, love how it's different from so many just a like, but seeing the filters I knew it would be a mess to live with. Not fond of cleaning filters all the time.NO thanks.

We will for sure get it as a Hoover. If the engineers were going to copy a vacuum cleaner that's 60 years old, why not copy one that was actually good? Like a Model G Electrolux for example.

Mine arrived today, and I'm impressed! It is very funky, very very funky! Works very well too, the brushroll is VERY stiff, and the suction from the 750w motor is very impressive.

I know that a few others share this opinion as well, the hose could be longer, the big wheels are a bit wobbly and clunk about a bit, the filter (and there's only one I think) gets covered in dust and fluff very quickly. In the below pics I've used it for maybe 10 minutes on 2 rugs... The hard floor tool is horrible. Just 2 rubber blades, it squeaks and squeals over the laminate, and as the machine has quite good suction glues itself to the floor, and the only adjustment is the release slide on the hose handle...

I had to take off and grease the 2 front wheels on the power nozzle, and the rear wheels could do with it too but their pushfit and I'll never get them off without damaging so they will have to stay squeaky

But, for the price, I love it! Hope to get a proper full on vacuum done over the weekend to give it a good test.

Lol no worries. It's a vax product, so it won't be brilliant, every modern vax I've had has had a fatal flaw!

I hope Roger gets one to review, I haven't got a good enough video camera or voice to do a speaky video...
