Hello everyone!
I just tested the Dyson Small Ball upright vacuum cleaner at the Reviewed.com appliance labs and found it wanting. The worst aspect is pickup. We test vacuums on high pile, low pile, and bare floors. The Small Ball had trouble with all of them. On bare floors, the self-adjusting brush head just pushed debris around. And after the carpet tests, we found that the dirt pick up was about half of the much more affordable Kenmore Elite 31150.
On the plus side, the Small Ball had great handling. The titular ball contains an articulating joint that lets the vacuum turn on a dime. The unit's 12.15-pound weight also adds to mobility.
Overall, the $400 price tag combined with the middling pickup makes me think this an unattractive buy. But what do you guys think about the Small Ball? Oh, and the link leads to my full review and a video of me using the Small Ball.
