And once again, my second post for the weekend! Thankfully, all this quarantining has allowed me to get out some of my favorites in my collection again. My next post is about a dream machine that took me years to find. This particular machine is an Electrolux Model G, BUT, not any model G! This is a very special model G. As I was told, Electrolux introduced their first fully enclosed electric hose during the run of the model G and into the run of the 1205. I believe I had heard a long time ago that these were not UL certified and thus made these hoses “experimental.” If I am wrong about this, please explain because I love the history of this piece! However, I knew that this hose was very rare to find, so when I found it along with a beautiful model G and the original 1 piece PN 1 for the price of $35 at a Goodwill, I snapped it up and ran to the checkout line. This machine runs like new now and looks great! It definitely one of my top favorites in my collection now. Enjoy!

Early Electrolux Models

Thankfully this machine will be in a line with all of my early Luxes. Currently, I have an early pre-war model XXX, an early 1205, and then this early model G. I'll upload a pic later after I get off work.

Many thanks for the positive comments!

My Future Goal

My goal is to find a model CA to go with it because I believe that they used this hose as well. I don’t know that for sure.

Thank you for the good comments!

I thought the power nozzle configuration that failed to earn UL listing was the Canadian-designed telescoping wand and teal pistol grip hose combo that came with some model G's and early 1205's. I have one of those that came with my first 1205. My other 1205, the one I rescued from my parents' attic, came with a non-powered hose.

Karl,
That is a beautiful hose! I wish I could find one like it for my G. That red tracer really sets it off. I had a hospital G like Tom's and the top of the PN handle was a slightly different configuration as seen in the pics. I talked my mother into buying one brand new. Wish I had kept that one!

Fred,
Thanks for finding that thread. There is a lot of great information in it for newer folks and the younger collectors as well.

Thank You!

I'm definitely happy to have it in my collection! I think I heard that there was a version of this hose for the tan G as well that still had the red tracers in it. Does anyone have any pictures of them or can anyone confirm this?

Thanks Charlie

I was just thinking about how this site has a wealth of incredible information if you know where to look for it. There have been some great people who have come and gone over the years (unfortunately) (some are still here fortunately) with incredible knowledge. The good news is that their thoughts and information to share is still here to learn from. Since I was webmaster for a number of years since the beginning of this site (when you and I conspired to get Robert to build it) I feel like a living index of the site. Just have to remember the right search terms to find it. If I see someone looking for information that I know is here somewhere I’ll try to post a link. In this case I remembered that Tom Gasko had one of these and posted about it. Searched under Electrolux Electric hose under his name and Voila! there it was.

My early Luxe’s!

Here are all of my early Luxes! My Pre-War Model XXX, the “Experimental” G, and the early 1205 with the plug in the front and smooth body. Had to get them together for this picture! Enjoy!
