If what your lying on is more of a rack, an instrument of torture than a bed, either too hard or too lumpy, or maybe your Tempur-Pedic mattress is broken down and your just plain tired of counting sheep, all fed-up with tossing and turning on that hot or icy bed of nails...there is no siesta for you. If your more weak than weary, exhausted but wide-awake, more conscious than drowsy...then this link  I hope should provide some relief, as its soft lyrics cradles you to sleep . I think quite possible the Sandman may pay you a visit whilst your in the Land of Nod. Goodnight, have a most restful slumber, for tomorrow is a brand new day.

Alan, I have a lot of her albums on stereo 8, and I must confess I love popping them in. She does sound terrific and I'm glad you liked it. However, that video bore a strong resemblance to that Buck Rodgers one, perhaps one of the greatest music videos ever made...I guess lighting really can strike twice. Here's another Blondie song for the more high-strung, with more caffeine than iron in their blood.

Alex, I wish I'd thought about it first! That was a really good one. Here I am with the vast portion of my life totally consumed with THE KIRBY, and you beat me to the punch! Do you hear that sound...AWE...AWE...AWE...that's me hitting myself in frustration...MAN!!!

Hello, I'm with the county medical examiners' office, and I'm so sad to inform you that your to late. We tried to revive him, but he received too much shrapnel from a " Cheap Plastic Explosive Vac " and he died right there on the spot from PLASTIC POISONING! It was the worst and most violent death I'd ever seen in my twenty years...simply horrific! If only he had a Kirby this would have never happened.

arh1953,

" Eat To The Beat " is a Columbia House cartridge and they tend to have the best pads, but still keep an eye on the splice ( sensing foil ).

Often bad belts in 8-track or radio station cart players can be replaced with a similar size rubber band--did this with a stations Tapecaster to keep it on air.Belts from their secretaries desk fixed the problem.DJ and station manager happy! This is an emergency fix esp if you can't get an orig belt. But it will work-and quite well.

I have the Columbia House sleeve on the tape too, nice to know it's original to it. I had a pile of 8 tracks several years ago, and gave them away! I did get a few more over time, but not like what I got rid of. Once in a while I find them in thrift stores. The crazy old bat in the Mustard Seed thrift store in Fort Pierce tosses old record albums out when she can't get rid of them in a month or two, likely the 8's go to the dumpster as well.

I knew a man who's wife was a gospel singer, he'd record and market her, to pre recorded music. He had two identical cassette recorders he replaced the belts with rubber bands. They worked fine for him, obviously a temporary fix. Far as I remember, it is easier to replace an 8 track machine belt than it is the cassette belts.

Yes,its easier to replace 8-track and cart machine belts-they transfer power from the motor to the capstan. In some broadcast cart machines-the capstan is merely an extension of the motor shaft. No belts required. For cassette machines the mechansim is essentually a miniature reel-reel deck.so these become more complicated.Have serviced these in the broadcast sector-Sony 5000 portable machines and Tascam rack mount machines-all of these are similar mechanisms-a motor for the capstan and another for the reels in the cassette.you find rubber tired drive pucks-sort of like those in a TT or bets that work on pullies. Some radio stations used consumer cassette decks-they would just be thrown out when the wear out from hard use.Nakamichi machines were used in radio stations, too they held up well.Never had to fix one.

arh1953,

I've heard tell some recording studios still use Stereo 8 format for their master copy's...not entirely sure, though. Rubber bands are a good temporary fix, but they will start slowing down a dragging before know. You can still get the belts from www.8trackavenue.com, he's also on THAT...THAT....Evil-Bay!

tolivac is dead-on! Replacing an 8Track belt is just about the simplest thing you could ever hope to do...it's just that easy.

P.S. I'm sorry, this is the guy that I get my 8Ttack repair kits from, it's someone else who sells the belts, but still, check it out - it's great!

WOW! That's like having Chuch Norris & Bruce Lee togethe

Thanks, arh1953!

Jayne and Jimi...WOW...WOW and a whole lot more WOW! Jayne, she just doesn't only sing well but she also takes fantastic photos....well, whomever took the photos of her...those are fantastic photos...Oh, you know what I mean!

I couldn't believe it when I heard Her, for she sounds remarkable like Robin Ward. Here's her link and thanks again!

That was so pretty!

That is the only other thing I've heard by Robin Ward, I must watch out for her album. Jayne, did one or two novelty recordings too, her serious attempts are preferable to me. I love the girl singers/girl groups of the '50's through the '60's, and have a few 45s and albums of such.

arh1953

I would love to get her album too, but the only one I've ever seen was on eBay and it went for a $150.00....Now, that's some scratch! The lady bands or great....Oh, Lawrence Welk and the Lennon Sisters! I'm thinking about getting an external amp and hooking it up to my computer and burning it all to 8Tack...YEAH!!!
