Alex, That's a shame, really.

You'd always post interesting things.
You can see the firestorm, that was not intended. But, it seems everything I say or do gets scrutinized and attacked. It's all so unfortunate. Seems I've become "Public Enemy #1" with Tom A. as #2. It's OK, though. Some just keep at it. What do they really want? Back and forth... how long do they want to do that? I've lost some friends... were they that close, really, then? So, it was 'mission accomplished' on their part. I'm not sure what they really want from me, but.. And, if they cared to take anything to private email to keep the mess out of here... I'd say. "OK, here's you r chance... get this all out of your systems,,insult, ridicule, etc, all you want".
But, Alex, you've been appreciated, etc. I hope to talk to you soon.

Thanks John.

I have 141 days left before I renew. A lot can happen. But I log on to see the great things this group has to offer, not to be part of the bickering and backstabbing, that was what drove me away before. Hopefully this madness can end and people can stay on the main subject, Vacuum cleaners.

John:

Some of us have tried to take this to private messages, but you keep blocking when someone brings up something you don’t agree with Or like. I’m sorry but things that were in the past should stay there. I’ll continue to say that. You need to realize that you seem obsessed with trying to consistently RUIN someone who you have never even met or know. People only attack when being attacked and that has consistently been proven as it continues to happen. Only you can put the fire out by not continuing.

If someone blocks you, then just drop it and move on with your life. Get over it and just leave, walk away. Forget they exist.

@caligula

This doesn't happen all the time. Just every few months. I just bought a subscription to the site as well, and it doesn't bother me. Every club has miscreants and troublemakers no matter what it is.

Re. Caligula.

Hi Huskyvacs:

I'm Alex Taber, Caligula was the cat sitting on the chair in my pic. He was the only mascot the VCCC ever had.

My involvement with the VCCC goes back to day one.

Dear Webmaster....

Please take this thread down. If you don’t, it will only get worse. It literally has nothing to do with “vintage vacuums” and has this cause enough issues between other members. Instead of looking on to other new posts, this thread keeps getting more and more attention from rubberneckers instead of paying attention to relative posts in the forum. I realize that I am no better, but for the love of vacuum collecting, please delete this from our website’s history.

I would hope the the webmaster reads this and responds in a timely matter as this has gone way too far.

Disappointed

I'm just a bit disappointed that we aren't really getting quality threads around here too much. When I first started on this site, which was pretty recent, I was seeing threads on this type of vacuum and that, and many replies. I also saw threads that started with a question or excitement, and answered the title when you would go into the thread. Those were fun to read, I miss them. I can try to start doing that type of thing, but I can't guarantee the quality of the post. I've been focusing on exploring new vacuums recently, and have wanted to make threads on it, but I fear that everybody will be bantering on these types of threads and my thread won't get any replies, or anybody seeing them.

I've started to make videos to go along with future VL posts, so that'll be interesting. I feel that I shouldn't post more than once a week, but I think that more posts would be better for everybody to participate. All of this is just making me sad now. Anybody reading this, when I post, even if you don't like the cleaner or subject, could you just be fake for me and say "that's cool!" or maybe "hope you enjoyed that" for me? It'd make me much happier. I get quite excited when people reply to my threads and I love to see what people think.

When it comes to the point of this post, I really don't appreciate the general hate going on in the world. It seems that the last time the world was happy was in the 70's! and I wasn't even born close to then. I just really hope that this type of argument doesn't become verbal during the nearest V.C.C.C.

Regards, Garrett Thompson
