a new Hoover to brighten my spirits

While still grumbling over being mistreated by yet another bigoted, faith-based thrift store employee, this peach Canadian model 711 appeared in the corner to brighten my day! The front lens and aluminum trim piece are missing, but I have a beater machine with a melted hood that I can salvage the necessary parts from. The remainder of the parts appear to be in good condition, and this machine has the aluminum hose collar which I am quite fond of. I will post some pictures of it all cleaned up later on today, hopefully.
The last patent date is 1958, but it appears newer than that. What year would this be from?

I am not familiar with Canadian Hoovers and we never had this model in the US, but based on the handle grip and the Hoover Badge emblem size, I am sure it is from after 1958. Yet the information panel on the bottom looks like the model 70 or earlier US Convertibles. Also wondering if there is any correlation between the model number 711 and the US model numbers of which 70 would be similar. Based on that plus the badge size (which shrunk at model 70) and info plate, I am guessing it was around 1966, but that is totally a guess.

It looks like the 719 counterpart.

The U.S, one had that funny molded handle grip in orange.

the small Hoover emblem means.....

this vacuum was made after mid 1966 because that is when Hoover made switched from the big metal clip on medallion to that little stick on emblem on the base.....PAT COFFEY

a white plate. ( The vacs, not the Canadians themselves), of course.

Were the US convertibles by that time still using the metal strip over the headlight?

The headlight lens was missing;

I included the aluminum trim piece along with the lens when I installed it(it was missing when I purchased it: see first photo). I have no idea whether the Canadian machines had stopped using the trim piece by this time or not. Please let me know if it is incorrect; I shall remove it!
I don't recall having seen this color before; its not orange, and not pink. Its almost a vivid salmon tone, not quite sharp enough to be mandarin.

That strip was not included,

at least not in the U.S. But, KEEP it! You may need it at some point, but, it isn't original to that machine. Congrats on that great Convertible.
