A glut of XXXs and LXs!

A casual survey of eBay listings today yielded a surprising result -- currently there are no less than 7 model XXXs, and a similar number of LXs up for auction; there may be more - I only went back a couple of days.

Once again we're reminded of not only how many of these machines were made but how durable they are.

I wonder how many of the vacuum cleaners being made today will be ending up on eBay 50, 60 or 70 years from now...?!

Not many. as you can tell the things made today do not last that long. maybe about a year or two

Your Right. Some Nice Lux's Available For People.

Yes there are some very nice Electrolux's on E-bay in last few weeks. Funny how things are on all of a sudden. Then months of not one decent vacuum. If a person didn't have a lot of deep pile rugs. Either the XXX or LX or LXI would be a great choice. You would never need to buy another canister again. I hope they all will go to a home were they'll be used and enjoyed. There's a warm cozy feeling about an old appliance getting a second chance. It's a shame the machines that get scraped for no good reason. With a little spit and polish they would look almost new.

Tell me about it I feel bad for the people who put long hours into making these machines and ten years later they are either put away or scrapped. as you said all vintage machines do deserve a second chance. they will last a lifetime. years after our lives expire I am sure a lot of these machines will still be running.

I could not agreee more with some of the above statements.

It is truly amazing to me the quality, the pride and the workmanship that went into building all of those older machines. Today, people look at it as a "Job" nothing more, there is no pride taken in the design, workmanship or quality of most of the newer machines or appliances.

When I see machines listed on E-bay that are in reasonably good condition, I am always hopeful that it goes to a good home. That is what this club is all about, saving and remembering that part of our history.
