Now, here's a near mint G.E. Swivel-Top with the factory box, instruction sheet, and all. Since red is one of my favorite colors, you can imagine how happy I was to find this one in an under stairs closet at an estate sale preview!

Last but not least, here's another one of my favorite machines, a red and white Eureka Princess with power nozzle. I found this one in a thrift store, COMPLETE, about 3 or 4 years ago.

Thank you Toby for posting this,,,WOW,,,i havnt seen one of those Sunbeam's with Power Nozzle in years! You sure have an excellent collection.
About the Premier/GE Swivel Top with PN,,,is it hard to use with the PN? Does the PN cord to the vac keep the top from swiveling too much?
Also, could you post more pics of the Sunbeamwith PN?
Where is the PN plug on the vac? How powerful is the suction, and how powerful/agressive is the PN? Are there beater bars, or just brushes,,,and did Sunbeam make the PN themselves?
Also, ive always been curious about the little rubber like white knob thingy on the front,,,what does it do?
I remember seeing those Sunbeam's at a local catalog/showroom store as a kid in the 70s, and remember wanting one very badly!
Do they still make bags for the Sunbeam's?
Did Sunbeam also make an upright? I kinda remember a stick vac sort of upright, but not a full size, with beater brush, ect.

I remember an elderly neighbor lady when i was a kid, (1970s) she had that same exact red Eureka Princess, with the red PN,,,she also had a sort of folding shoe rack type thing for the tools, she kept the tools on it at the back of her closet.
She had thick heavy shag carpet, the kind that had to be raked, vacuumed, and raked again. She would pay me a couple of dollars to come over, and do her carpets,,,i remember enjoying using that Eureka. Thanks for jogging my memory!

PowerNozzle vacuums...my very FAVORITE type of vacuum.

Wow do you have a great collection of cleaners there. I have never seen two of them, one being the very first Premier canister with a "Douglas" powerhead, and then the later Sunbeam Challenger with a powerhead.
So it comes to reason then, that over the final years of the Swivel-Top's lifespan General Electric or Premier Electric, three different powernozzles were used.
The first one was a Royal built PowerNozzle like what was used on the Pony Tanks, and had a headlight. It was a wider powernozzle, and had about a 15 inch cleaning path. This was the one used during the General Electric years, and is comparatively rare. It also saw use on Air-Way and others as well.
The second one, and the much more common one was the FilterQueen Model 88 Powerhead. Not only was it used by Royal and Filter Queen, it was also used by Premier and Singer for their canisters as well. It was an "off the shelf" powernozzle that was made for many years, and may well still be available.
The third one then is the "Douglas built" powerhead you have on yours. These were used on everything from Douglas's own machines, to badge engineered Douglas Home Cleaning Systems for Montgomery Wards, Air-Way used them as well as Vita Vac, Metropolitan rebuilt Electroluxes used them as well as thier later Matropolitan tanks.....Silver King used it......
It's apparant as many smaller sized companies making canister-tank vacuum cleaners started hopping on the Powerhead bandwagon. When they looked into making their own, as many may have done; they found the cost was prohibitive. So they had a few available off the shelf units to choose from including ones from Hoover and Eureka.
All in all i would like to see what your Sunbeam Powernozzle looks like. It somehow reminds me of a rebodied Hoover Powermatic Powerhead.....
I woiuld love to know if my hunch is right...Or if it was possible Sunbeams own.????

Here's more of the Sunbeam with power nozzle. It has good suction, and the power head is fairly aggressive. As you can see in the second pic, it has both brushes and beater bars in the pn, and the hose cord plugs into a socket on the side of the cleaner.
