I would be interested in buying the Kirby tools from you if you are interested in selling them. I have a near mint Kirby (except the bag) that these belong to. Let me know.

Thanks!
Louis

Hey Tom, I've seen attachments go for more than machines more often than not, especially for such a rare machine. You might be able to put Glenn through his first year of college from what you might get on ebay!

Yes, I too have a near-mint Kirby that these would go lovely with. See pic. This same attachment set was provided with the early "C" and "R" series, as well as the 505 - and was not substantially changed until the first model with gray bag and trim, the 508. (There were no models 506 or 507 -- 505 was sold for three years.)

Tom, I am sure I don't have anything Hoover-related that you'd be interested in so I'm not even going to waste your time. I agree that if you want the most "bang for your buck" with them, eBay would clearly be the way to go.

On the other hand, if you wanted to make your dear old buddy Charles Richard VERRRRY happy....hahahaha!! :)

Alright Charles, big question for ya. How did you manage to get the belt lifter cap thing on a model 1c. It looks like a very cool upgrade.

P.S., no, that is not the correct belt cover seen in the photo. This is the way the machine came to me. I have since found the correct plate, a circular disk with no belt lifter lever. This is an old photo of the machine.

And p.p.s, this is a Model C from 1935, the very first vacuum cleaner to bear the name KIRBY!

p.p.s. - the tan (Sirocco) wands in the box are obviously from a later model -- either the 561, Sanitronic VII or Dual 50, all of which had this color of attachments.

Yeah, I know it's not correct. I just didn't expect it to fit a 1c, and I thought a bit of work might have been required to make if fit right.

Too rich for my blood

LOL
See they are nestled really comfy on a sanitronic wand
LOL

No, I;m not going to go Kirby D50 crazy
I have a wand now & 3 machines
LOL

All to discover I like filtration better

So I am just commenting on how nice it is to find cool things.

That hose & alum is sure pretty
bet it would make a nice necklace
yeah if I were King Kong...LOL

Well, hope I made you laugh....

The 505 belt lifter actually fits perfectly in the hole for the earlier models, as the opening is the same size. The only difference is that the 505 (and thereafter) has a small screw just to the right of the hole, inserted into the metal nozzle, with a small rounded tip sticking out just enough to act as a 'catch' against the belt lifter to keep it from spinning all the way around.

The Kirby 3C tools are on ebay. I started them at $9.99. It is under item number: 120260934972. Happy bidding. Feel free to email me with any questions.
