Mike and I headed over to Pittsburgh to visit some friends and pick up a Kirby Classic III I had lined up. What we didn't expect...

The Kirby is in great shape, and the attachments are PERFECT - NEW condition! -- $75!

The other unexpected: we picked up an Electrolux G in very nice shape - complete with original bill of sale from 1968! -- $50!

Awesome finds! My brother has that exact kirby, but his has the bojack paper bag setup that uses eureka F&G bags. One of the great old kirbys, they never seem to wear out.

The way they are in the pictures is how we got them... I haven't touched either yet. We just got home with them about 2 hours ago. They're both very well kept.

You're very welcome. It's obvious someone took very good care of them both. Purchasers used to recognize that a good appliance was an investment, and needed to be cared for. Must be a new find sorta day, got my first ever Royal today. :)

Metal fans

Oh I miss those metal fans.

All I ever seem to do on modern Kirby's is replace the plastic fan , we do about 2 a week at least and we are even not a authorised Kirby centre

those plastic fans are awful aren't they? I had one absolutely explode on a Kirby Tradition while I was using it in blower mode. The crystolator (guard) was in place, so nothing could have hit the fan. Vac shop said that just happened sometimes with a plastic fan in an older kirby...

vintagekitchen, that's why when i tested fired a tradition that was going to be my personal one (not for sale) and the lexan fan exploded, it was going to be switched out with a metal fan from a parts donor omega thats too crapped up to sell. since i had aquired a better quality tradition for my personal collection, its getting the metal fan now. anything trad or older i have will have a metal fan if it doesn't already. lexan fans just fail too often. and heritage's will get the new kevlar fans.
