Doesn't this thing look like a late 50's Cadillac? It does to me, which is one reason why I just bought it off of eBay, the color and style got me too. The first photos are of the machine that I won, the last picture is of one that's currently listed on eBay as a buy it now (the rug tool is listed separate, how cheap!). I like the script on mine better, especially the "V" logo, not to mention it has a thicker, white bumper with "fins". And obviously it's in much better condition.

Would anybody happen to have a crevice tool or dusting brush for this? I might have to find some metallic red paint at the hobby shop and find suitable vintage tools to paint.

well....well....well......

Alex, welcome to the world of Atlas ownership! As you can imagine, this machine was the Belle-of-the ball when I introduced her to my friends at the motorcycle shop where I get all of my re-chroming done. They have a picture of it in their shop, and many people have asked about it!

It is a wonderful conversation piece.

I restored mine two years ago. It has nine coats of primer, ground color, candy-apple metallic effect followed with three coats of clear acrylic lacquer.

Good job! Nice price.....and made by a company loved by all...

Congratulations, Alex. What a stunner.

I certainly hope you get the one in the top three pictures and not the 4th one. Oh, that's not an Isoldit photo. Whew! :-)

Here's what the Compact might have looked like had IEC accepted this design study in the '60s.

There's a pattern!

I'm missing the dusting brush and crevice tool.

Rick is missing the dusting brush and crevice tool.

Now Doug is missing the dusting brush and crevice tool!

It's quite a work of art

isn't it, Ken? I think the designers were smoking some funny stuff when they put that one on the drawing board!
