Hey Guys
As Im sure a lot of you have gathered I work in an vacuum / appliance sales/service shop . Ive just sold a Panasonic lightweight upright to an old boy - as ya do lol!

We were talking about the kind of thing he wanted, and as I usually do I asked him what he was looking to replace - Fred S im sure you can identify with doing that and the reasoning behind it- its not just being professional lol - unfortunatly
usually I get the rather disappointing reply its some plastic Hoover or Eurekalux !! .

Today however was different- my ears kinda pricked up when he said he has 2!! heavy Hoovers WITH CLOTH BAGS .

Anyway without sounding too keen (yes sir we can certainaly dispose of those for you !!) I mentioned my Collection and to cut a long story short I have 2 60s Seniors to pick up when I drop the Panasonic round Tuesday . He has said they are not mint by any meens BUT both still work, and if nothing else parts are parts as ya all know .

OMG!!!!

These are FAR too good to part out!- both 652As the lighter one is approx 1964-5 and the darker one is Sept 1969. Both have the usual hood scuffs, although not too deep and should largely polish out

They are just that basically- kinda a thick almost canvas like material- think an Electrolux cloth bag I guess!

PS The filtration seems to be pretty much as good as paper going on the state of the inside of the outer bag!- I have no intention of using them tho, FAR too messy to empty and brush etc

oh, so those cloth bags are not a genuine Hoover part? so the store/dealer made them? must be a bitch to get the rubber ring to hold them on. uk hoovers DO use a rubber ring, no?

Not the easiest of things- All our Cleaners using the open ended bag have rubber rings-except the original 652 and 1334 Junior. these had a metal spring affair. We never had condom type sleave over here lol!

Seamus....wow is all I can say! I just love those "finds" that you always remember. I notice too that the switch changed between 65 and 69...is one better than the other. The earlier switch would seem to me to be in the way sticking out of the side of the cleaner like that. Beautiful machines...congratulations. I also really like the extras that came with them...the tool look great. We did not have the ultraflex hose with out Convertible series. They certainly do have a good home now.

Yup they defiantly have a good home now .

The sticking out pedal was first used on the 612 and carried on to the VERY early darker green models. I forgot to say the "lime" green version is Hop Green and Jonquil and the darker one is Swedish green and Smoked Pine. It is indeed a pain for catching on sofa legs etc and its not unusual to come across examples with the bakelite/plastic piece missing .

The switch then stayed in the same position on all other versions with this style of hood- the last Domestic version being the 6525E .

Id love to know why we had the footswitch and you had handle switches!!!
