At long last, my portable 8-track fantasy has come true. What is the only thing better than the Blaster I, the Blaster II. I got this today, and to my surprise it's in near perfect condition; still in its box, including all its original manuals. Fantastic for a machine which is close to thirty-five yrs. old. Now, I can listen to Pat Benatar anywhere, anytime.

Oh that brings back memories of roller staking in the park on the weekends in short shorts, showin off the the boyz. Disco was king and Donna Summer was THE Queen and I was all that and a box of chocolates... at least in my own mind. Maybe I was just easy... whatever

O M G

I had that same one!!! I took that thing with me everywhere, even got soaked @ the beach when the tide came in & I wasn't fast enough to pick it up it still worked..amazing!!! You guys are the best with all these you keep posting on here..such a great time back then!

Donna summer was a fine looking lady; Pat Benatar, why she is pretty as a pixie. These two 8-tracks were shot, but I replaced the pads and the aluminum tape, which acts to change the programs and a splice. The sound quality of an 8-track is just about as good as an LP, and it retains its information for an amazing span of time, even in the worst of conditions.

Ahhh the greatest hits my favourite I think I had Saturday Night Fever too..I had so many & now I have no idea what happened to the lot. I did find some cassette tapes which I have to see what's on them. Nice that my cars have cassette players in them..LOL

I also remember

My school bus driver had one & she took the mic from the PA system as it was wedged up against the fan so everyone on the bus could hear. The school system had a lot of the rear engine buses back then & the new ones with the front noses had a.m. radios on them.

You should never discard your old 8-tracks tapes, they can be repaired and sound great once again. The first couple of picks is the 1962 " Victory At Sea " and its a pretty rare one to get a hold of. The last pick is Barbi Benton, and it looked like she was played to death - One can only imagine why! The pinch roller was completely rotted and had to be replaced. Also the tape was totally flipped thru its entire length and had to be reversed.

On another note,I need to get my Sears 8-Track player working again, the same friend that gave me the player ripped out the speaker jack in the late 1960s!

Calem!!!!!!!!

That is BEAUTIFUL!!  I love it! I'm finding one for my DreamSoto now, I didn't know that was an option on the '61 model!

Now dial 0 and ask for 7-9753, I need to see if Chrysler has any in stock!
