I thought it was a 541, but the bag threw me. I have a 541. By the way, do you remember the models those two ladies gave the V.C.C.C. at the 1994 meeting?
As most of you were not there, it was our first outside meeting, I'll tell you what happened that historic day.
In May of 1994, we returned to our birthplace, The Hoover Historical Center. After the festivities, we were in the hospitality suite (my hotel room) and two maids knocked on the door. The management had 2 old Hoovers and gave them to the club. Tom also did the first cleaning contest by ripping open a dust bag, and we took a few machines to see which was best. And if I recall correctly Tom, it was at the Hoover Historical Center that we got our first bit of bad press! The reporter assigned to write an article on us, took sick, and another, very anti V.C.C.C., and anti Hoover covered it. I don't recall what he wrote, but it was very nasty. Do you know anybody who has that article? as I recall, both Stacy Krammes and Jackie Love of Hoover, contacted the paper and had that reporter fired for insults not only to Hoover but to Hoover's guests (us!) Almost 20 years later, our club is still alive and kicking. In fact it's got kids of it's own. Yours, The V.C.A. and Vacuumland. Thanks for being a big part of it Tom.
