Hi folks!
Curious if there is a retrofit kit or an aftermarket disposable bag or liner that will work on my Kirby 519.
I hate having to mitigate the dust hurricane that almost always seems to occur when cleaning/emptying the bag.
Any wise words?

Thanks!
Mike

Interesting... Just to help me make an educated decision and cause the least mess/damage is there a post on here for someone who has converted a 519 to the MiniEmptor? Is this a bolt in conversation?

Else, this paper bag conversion you speak of Kirbykid, do you have more info? Pricing? Feel free to email me (I know many forums font like members selling or soliciting for services) my email is obnoxiousblue at hotmail dot com

We've had this 519 and a Classic Kirby for ages. I sent the 519 back to Kirby for rebuilt and while they did a great job everything came back tan with a black bag! All my accessories are still red though... Made me die a little inside. lol

What Ben and I are talking about are basicaly the same thing. With mine, I take a brand new black cloth bag and I put it onto a heritage 1 or 2 emptor with fill tube. To change the bag you pull off the clamp that holds the top of the bag together and slide the cloth bag down away from the paper bag and fill tube. What I think Ben is talking about is just a heritahe 2 or legend 2 bag with emptor. They both work, but in my opinion, the legend 2 or heritage 2 bags dont match the kirby that well. As for price, a new emptor costs 20 bucks, and the cloth black bag costs 35. I can add a kirby logo onto the black bag for an extra 30, but it takes a long time, is a pain in the butt to do, and costs a lot.

As for the tan trim, I have new red and black trim for the 519. I also have the original red belt lifter and a new black belt lifter. I also have a few original bags and cords. So if you ever want your kirby to look totally original, I have all the parts needed to do it.

Hope all this helps

neither for the purist nor the faint of heart

Meet Ethel, the downstair maid. She's a 519 wearing a Legend 2 outer bag over a style 3 inner bag connected to a Tradition oval emtor with Classic III trim.[this post was last edited: 3/2/2014-18:57]

neither for the purist nor the faint of heart part 2

Meet Alice, the upstairs maid. She's a 560 wearing a Heritage 2 outer bag over a style 1 inner bag again with a Tradition oval emtor with Classic III trim. She also sports a Classic III handle which is waiting for it's red insert.

Don't blame me for the handle, that's the wife's idea.

What to do with all that tan crud from factory rebuilds

Again not for the faint of heart or the purist.

This is a D80 minus it's puke green trim.

In tan trim I feel like I can work with it, in puke I just wanna run to the bathroom.
