i bought this some time ago & when i turned it on it made a strange noise i did not hear from a kirby before.i parked it in a closet for a long time.yesterday i tore it down looking for the noise.bearings were good,brushroll was good.i took the fan case off & saw it had a plastic fan on it.what i found was the fan was rubbing against a bushing. looked like a new bearing plate was put on it.i removed the bushing & replaced the fan with an original metal fan & now it runs & sounds like it should.SAVED A KIRBY !!

WOW! What a beauty, even right down to the original bag! I assume the cord is a replacement? Looks like a red one from a Classic III.

The cord on your machine is, as Rob (kirbylux77) had pointed out, a replacement (from a Classic III); originally, it was gray with red male and female plug ends.
