New Rbow SRX power nozzle

couple of questions and concerns
As an SRX owner I do have the original power nozzel with the blue lever on the back of it. I know over the past year or so rexair took the blue lever off of it due to some issues, which it didn't affect me cause my SRX nozzle had nozzle barely got any use, except for deep cleaning beds and furniture. I mean it even had better aggitation then the rainbowmate, which would slow down on my couch. My questions are as followed:
1. does it still have the stainless steel brush roll like the original srx power nozzle?
2. where is the suction gate on this nozzle that allows for airflow like the original one?
3. is the belt still in the center or did they move it back to the side like they did with the e2 black?
4. another thing is, who's to say this is even the SRX power nozzle and not a power nozzle for a completely new model? I only mentioned that because the SRX is turning 4 this year so it'd be time for Rexair to launch something new so it. Also another thing is that picture that is posted looks like the e2 black nozzle with some blue markings.
I think if rexair was going to launch a new power nozzle then they would launch it along side a new system. Also they should look at the current line of optional accessories and see how they can " tweak" them. Because they can deffinately improve both the MiniJet and RainJet. I would like for both of those accessories to include some sort of motorize bruh heads. Also where did you see this "new" powerhead design?

Well it is definitely a step in the right direction. The SRX power nozzle was shameful. The E2 Black with the side mounted geared belt was the best power nozzle Rainbow designed. They had finally got rid of the stretch belt and moved it out of the dirt path. Although I'd prefer they just call it a day and equip their machines with the EBK360.
I too have the same questions about the inside works. Unfortunately i havent seen any other info or pics other than the one I posted. If it is totally different on the inside i wonder if rexair will discontinue parts for the older style?

Unfortunately I cannot remember where these originated from another collector sent them to me.
I'm glad to see they've return to the previous design while I did like the new brushroll design and the agitation it produced it was just unfortunately a poor performer. The pn12 nozzle used on the E2 black was far better sealed and more efficient than the PN-2 nozzles before it that used the thin air channel it made no sense for them to return to that form with the SRX.
To me this change shows that Rexair does listen to feedback rather than pushing back and saying there's nothing wrong with the product.

Hi,
Good to see they are listening to feedback. I actually like the SRX nozzle agitation with the heavy duty brush strips. I wish they had dumped the spinning brushes and put the stainless roller in it with the HD brush strips but one thing at a time right? Now if they would put a 2.5 quart basin in the SRX by dropping it a bit in the center of the dolly and actually put a motor in the vacuum itself it would be great. I like the sound and power of the double fan E2 Black machine and find my SRX a bit noisier or less pleasing which ever way you want to describe it. There is also a Seperator and nut update for the SRX as well.

This is just my personal 2 cent opinions. I'm not to big on this design of power nozzle. To me this looks like it got a higher height than the current srx nozzle. Like I feel like the original srx nozzle can get into lower furniture than this one. I also wonder why they ditched the stainless steel brush roll. To me that was a really nice and cool concept, especially with the removal/replaceable bristles. But this then leads me to ask the following question, which is, is this even for the srx or is this for a completely new model, because lets be honest its about time rexair came out with its next itiration. If you ask me, it doesn't make sense for rexair to just update the nozzle randomly during the diration of the srx. Also what was the reason for the new separator and nut update?

I won’t answer a bunch of questions on the SRX nozzle so I’ll leave you with this…
The nozzle that orig came with the SRX had a lot of issues. I have had to warranty a bunch of brush rolls due to the design and the hair getting into the bearings which caused housing issues due to melting.
The handle release was a joke and therefore was changed back to stepping on the head that everyone was used to who owned a rainbow.
The air vent was useless too, the machine is underpowered for what it is and adding a vent to the nozzle only made it worse.
And the light bars. We’ve had to warranty a lot of the light bars on the new SRX power head. Honestly I’m glad they went back to the E2 design. It was a far better nozzle with better performance and less issues. Maybe they will come out with something else but in the meantime this is a fantastic solution.

wait do you work for rexair? Like as a distributor?
I wonder if rexair will allow trade ins on the older/ original nozzles for these "new/ updated" nozzles.
I also wonder if rexair is also planning on updating any other accessories in the future, because several of them could use some sort of updating besides the power nozzle.

This certainly isn't the first time that Rexair updated a power nozzle during the production run of a current model. My E2 Black had a power nozzle with the belt drive in the center of the brush roll and I burned through at least 1 flat belt per month. When Rainbow updated this power nozzle, they moved the belt drive to the side and fitted it with a longer-lasting serpentine belt. This was a huge improvement and I wouldn't be surprised if it allowed Rexair to retain a lot of their customers. I replaced my power nozzle in 2013 after the Rainbow dealer in Austin TX gave me a very generous trade-in allowance on the newer side-belt nozzle. I always liked that power nozzle design and I'm glad it's back.

I agree with luxlife. If they want to stay in business, they got to keep the customers satisfied. I also agree with the others about going back to the previous nozzle, the original SRX nozzle was honestly a disappointment when I tried it out. The E2 Black in my humble opinion was the last good Rainbow and I wasn't impressed when I tried out the SRX, one of the reasons was because of the power nozzle. And Rexair didn't update the power nozzle not once or twice, they also came out with a different power nozzle during the production run of the D4C (my personal favorite Rainbow).

1. Does it popelle and pulls forward on the carpet when using it. I know with my SRX nozzle as soon as I pulled the trigger the power nozzle will pull it self forward and start cleaning.
2. Also on of the complaints with the srx power nozzle was its poor performance on hard surface floors compare to the previous nozzles. Does this improved nozzle do a better job on hard surface floors?
3. What would you say the aggitation is like compare to the original version?

Well.. My Gold 2 speed (which has the old E series PN and people HATE that one) even that PN is better than than the SRX one... I mean when you put crumbs or sand on a hard floor (even if the PN isn't designed for hard floors) the airflow from the PN head should be enough to pick up sand, crumbs, etc...but the SRX one couldn't... My rainbow PN could. and it's not designed for hard floors either.. It just displays the airflow at the PN head which, if it can't even do that, isn't good. Glad they have updated it...Aside from that the SRX seems OK... I still love my rainbow..I'll go through phases where I'll use it for six months or so...then take time off from it... then start using it again.

The SRX is truly an ABYSMAL machine. It has no suction and airflow, the OG powerhead was absolutely HORRIBLE, and it’s sold for 6,000 USD. NOT COOL RAINBOW!!!! At least Rainbow went back to the E2 style powerhead, but it shows how utterly incompetent Rainbow really is! Rainbow literally makes Dirt Devil look like a Miele in comparison. Their machines are literally running circles around the SRX!
