Shark WANDVAC Power Pet Cordless Hand Vac

I got this vacuum for Christmas; it's a small, lightweight, cordless handheld by Shark, featuring a high-speed brushless motor.

I tried it out right away, and this vacuum packs a lot of power for its size! It picked up lots of glitter on a chair, which fell out of a string that was tied around this vacuum's wrapping paper.

There are two attachments: a pet hair brush, along with a crevice tool with bristles that flip up or down depending on what I'm cleaning.

The dust bin empties at the push of a button via a flip-down trapdoor.

The vacuum's removable lithium-ion battery charges by placing the unit on a base. It is designed to be left on a table or other surface for grab-and-go convenience. The two attachments store right on the base, which comes in two pieces that need to be snapped together.

I am pretty impressed with this vacuum so far.

Consumer Reports has highly rated a similar Shark hand vac for the past year or two... I think it is called the Icon...if I remember correctly.

Question: in the pic showing the end of the nozzle, do I see the three contacts that connect to electrical prongs in the charging stand? If yes, it would seem that these holes could eventually clog with dust that would affect the charging process. Thoughts?

Actually, the top rated hand vac in Consumer Reports is the Shark Ion W1 WV201 - which looks similar to your WandVac.

Yes, those contacts do indeed connect to electrical prongs in the charging stand. Oddly enough, even though there are three contact holes on the vacuum, the charging stand only has two prongs. I could see this being a concern with long-term use.

I got the Wandvac as an extra accessory to an entire Shark robot kit I got on eBay earlier in the year for $10 that was advertised as "broken". Not sure what was broken on it but I found nothing wrong with it. The Wandvac I grabbed to suck up a spider that had wandered into my room, and it suprised me with how strong the suction was, i drug it around the floor a bit to get some other crumbs and it picked them right up.

The one thing I don't really like is you have to hold it at a high angle to get it to suction properly, I'm used to holding them low and parallel to the floor like the Dusbusters of the old days.

PS: Aldi has a knockoff of this vacuum under their "Easy Home" brand.
