I have a few questions about this newly acquired DC28.

First, what exactly is Airmuscle technology? Compared to my DC17 there is a lot of extra business going on under the power head. The extra tubes kinda look like the bag check mechanism is an old school Electrolux.

Second, the bin appears to longer seat properly to the main body. I'm sure the suction is suppose to pull the seal in, but this doesn't happen here. It has pretty weak suction when running. The seal doesn't really look degraded. Should I replace it or is there a better solution?

I just picked up a DC 28 for five bucks. It was clogged and one of the cams was broken. I searched Youtube and came across this video. I think the guy in the video explains it well. The air muscle is used to hold the nozzle closer to the carpet (which is where the tubes go) it's vacuum controlled. It's an over engineered Dyson but does clean fairly well and grooms the carpet better than any Dyson I've owned. I took my air compressor and blew out the underside and the cyclone which is all you can do without getting really complicated.
