Hey all,
Does anybody have any experience or own any of these "Centuri"
Uprights from Air-way?

Says that they use a 1300 watt Amatek motor, is this the same 2 stage motor that was included in Tacony Riccar 8955, Simplicity 7 series?

Anybody know what the build quality is like?

These are made by ESSCO/Dust Care. They've been making these for other companies including Bernina, Prolux, etc. They're not actual Air-Way vacuums. And both of these use a single stage motor. Same one that the Cirrus CR79 uses as well. Between these two and the Cirrus, I personally prefer the Cirrus over the Air-Ways.

@panasonicvac and Tolivac thanks for the explanation. I really found it hard to believe how these were in any way asociated with the original, true Air-Way brand.. I guess anybody will use the same design and put their name on it nowadays..

It's rampant

It sickens me to see how many fabled old brand names have been resurrected and put on today's products, many of which are junk and would be a huge embarrassment to the legacy companies.

Very true guys. But think of it this way....at least the Air Way name is on a decent quality upright. Would you rather see the name on some cheap bagless Shark-type vacuum from China?

I have to agree with you on that.
These may not be true Air-Way machines. But as you said, at least the name is on a good vacuum. I’m honestly not mad about these machines being branded Air-Way.

It really would've been a disgrace if the name were on a cheap disposable Chinese machine. I would’ve hated that.

If I had the need for one, I wouldn’t mind buying one of these Air-Ways. I’ve used these types of machines before, and wasn’t disappointed.

I sell them. The Commercial model holds up very well in constant use situations. I like their build quality; they really are powerful and well made.

Air-Way canister?!?!

Oh brother! Now that's NOT a quality vacuum! Chinese made junk. Found easily on Alibaba. Godfrey's in Australia has that same canister sold as a Wertheim.

No way would I even consider that! Especially since a Miele C1 powerhead canister would sell for only slightly more.

Whats so exciting about another plastic, generic canister vacuum? The METAL Air-Way canistors were something MORE special-GO BACK TO THEM!!!!!!And while were at it-bring back Royal metal uprights!!

Miele is not an option for me to sell. I have Clean Obsessed C0888 and Titan (all three models) with power nozzle. That's it. You have to buy $3000 worth of Sebo to become a dealer. Miele won't even give me a return phone call (7 attempts). Tacony is a "NO" for me. The Air-Way is something they can't get at Lowes or Wal-Mart. There are no other vac shops for 100 miles in any direction around me. So the Air-Way will get put through its test before I sell it, but I hope it's decent enough I'll like it when it arrives.
